>seriously starting to consider my friend's offer to drop out and start trying to make music together
How fucking insane am I? Neither of us have any experience, skill, or anything. For some reason being starving but trying to be something seems more worthwhile than doing something stable like going to school.

cool shit. wish I had some people who'd tag along as I do have a lot of experience and also some skill in music. i wish you two the best of luck, hit me up if you need me
Maybe develop some musical skills first before you drop out lol
solid idea op
im sure you'll make it

Yeah. You're giving into an ideal image of what life is like on the other side. I dropped out to do EXACTLY this.. I ended up being a short order cook for four years, making minimum wage, not releasing the music I wanted to etc.. wasn't a horrible turn of events but it was time wasted.

Nah, in the age of computers you don't need to spend years learning and practicing. You just use digital sounds, I mean look at Owl City. The guy literally has downs syndrome and is a worthless dicksucking ball-fondler, yet normies shower him with hundreds of millions of dollars for the garbage he churned out 8 years ago

But xe could do that before dropping out right?
I mean if you are already developing music it does make sense to drop out

Why can't you do both?
Take nightclasses and do your thing with him during the day.
If you're still in high school, then it's definitely a retarded idea and I promise you nothing will come from iy
Completely insane.
Music is already "worthless". No barrier of entry, too many musicians. Your success as an artist is determined by how well you sell yourself, more than musical skill.
The problem will only get worse as time goes on. Automation of music composition is coming SOON. If you think entirely self-driving trucks with nobody at the wheel are more likely to come first, you're going to get blindsided.
