i wish i had a job. seems like security work is all excops or exmilitary, or you gotta know someone
>>
>>35395416
Funny that you mention security; I'm a security guard and I have no such background. All you need to be is a big guy who knows how can command a room
>>
>>35395454
how'd you get into it? is it a safe place?
>>
I work overnight in a data center. It's easy and pays well. Plus, I don't have to interact with many people.
>>
>>35395485
Moved to a new city, applied for jobs that would keep me active, but allow me to be alone. The place is safe enough, but I have had to escort two drunk dudes off the property who wound up starting a fight.
>>
>>35395550
do you have to handle a gun?
>>
>>35395593
Nyet. Most security jobs won't require you to carry anything besides a flashlight, walkie, and phone
>>
I stock shelves in a supermarket. It's a good job to keep you fit,and being in an air conditioned box is great during the summer. I listen to audiobooks as I work and get to enjoy daytime things while others slave in their cubicles.

I work as a janitor at my state capitol building. The pay is good. The benefits are fantastic. It's about as robot friendly as it gets -- I clock in alone, work alone and go home.

I loved it at first. It's barely 3 hours of labor and I can spend the last 5 hours doing whatever I want- play video games, browse 4chan, look at porn on my phone whatever.

My honest advice? Get a real job with normal hours. Human beings need social interaction. Sunlight. A sense of community and camaraderie. The odd hours and isolation break your soul after a few years.

I talk to myself. Cry for no reason. Sing at the top of my lungs. Unless you are truly, 100% robot with zero need for social interaction a full time night shift job will break you.

I may get every holiday off with pay, retirement, dental, medical and job security but it's not worth it. I'm messed up.

Don't criticize me till you've done it for 5+ years

Sounds fucking comfy desu. How often do politicians work late?
>>
>>35395740
i mean, you can hang out with people online for 5 hours, and then have 8 hours of your free time to be social. you're blaming your reclusion on your job instead of yourself
>>
>>35395406
Work at Walmart stocking shelves. It's somewhat comfy because I don't need to interact with others often but at the same time I'm 'that guy' and Walmart sucks.

>>35395416
I got a job as a hospital security guard with no prior experience when I moved states. I'm not very tall and I'm certainly not big and I had no connections. I just got lucky I guess
>>
>>35395813
The secretary of state works till the middle of the night 3 or 4 nights of the week. I don't really know what he does but he looks tired and pissed off constantly.
>>
>>35395818
maybe. but the odd hours and isolation do strange things to you. there's no positive reinforcement. nothing. just stuck inside your head
>>
I make 15 an hour as a dispatcher for a trucking company. Pretty much just browse online all night.
>>
>>35395406
nightstock, yes
>>
>>35395915
Nice, I did dispatch for 12/hr a year ago
>>
>>35395942
Nights really do suck though. I can't wait till I save enough money to quit or find something else with normal hours.
>>
>>35395860
Also a walmartcuck. The job isn't as bad as it's made out to be especially it you don't work in the back or are a cashier. I just hate the stupid little slave vests they make us wear the shirt and kakies should be enough.
>>
>>35395889
That's breddy cool. You get to see the human side of politicians
>>
>>35396004
There is a sadness to all of them. I can't put my finger on it, but every single one has this "the lights are on but no one is home" look in their eyes. Even in a sea of suits I can spot the real deal people a mile away.

It's creepy and I hate it

Most staff is NEET level or weird enough to be tolerable.

overnight crisis counselor at a suicide prevention hotline. it's great. the experience is valuable, it's fulfilling, and the best part is getting to drive home on an empty highway while all the normies are on the opposite city-bound traffic being mad as fuck because they have to work during the daytime.
>>
I work overnight at a hotel in California. Ask me anything.

I make $14 an hour and do very little work.
>>
>>35397400
Are you ever tempted to subtly encurage the secretly tallying your kill count?
>>
>work security by myself all night at a condo
>spend 90% of my shift watching anime/youtube/netflix and browsing this shithole
>get paid as much as the poor bastards who do real work during the day
