>thinking refuting an argument means it's wrong
>>
>Even when it's cheaper to hire a woman, female employers would rather have more male workers than female workers

Why is that?
>>
that isn't about how if a man comes up to and triggers you with facts you should fall asleep
it's about how women don't care about anything unless it confirms their world view.
>>
>>35386166
Because men do their work while women fuck around.
>>
>>35386128
>gender wage gap
>just make the workers change gender since it has become a meaningless word anyways

is this image ironic? This is a parody with the genders swapped right?
>>

Haha those stupid men and their "facts", they don't even have vaginas.
>>
>>35386163
So much this, it's so annoying arguing with someone responds with "that's an ad hominem", over and over again even though it's completely obvious that's what I'm doing, and it doesn't prove what I'm saying is wrong.
>>
>>35386229
no, it's a comic mocking mainsplainers.

Honestly if someone did the shit that you probably do and, for example, told me I couldn't possibly know that women's studies is a shitty major because I haven't finishes college yet then I wouldn't point out the fallacy, I'd stop talking to them. Waste of breath.
>>
>>35386163
And then the opposite of this is people arguing based on gut feelings and anecdotes, winding up basing their deicisions on astrology and wasting thousands of dollars on homeopathic medicine...
>>
>>35386327
why do you feel the need to insult your opponents in the first place anon
>>
>>35386397
according to women/feminist, mansplaining is when a man explains something to a woman in a condescending way. But they usually throw it around every time a man has something to say. In this comic's case, it would be a man explaining a woman why she isn't opressed

Fallacy Fallacy, just because an argument contains fallacies doesn't mean the original point of the argument is wrong.

Also, using logic in order to lie and manipulate is a shitty thing to do.
>>
>>35386446
Because I was pointing out how much of a douche-bag they were acting to other posts and how pretentious they were being. Obviously this argument went no where since this person just kept using "muh ad hominem", and I even stated, yes, this is an ad hominem, and of course they kept repeating it over and over again.

One time a customer was bitching at me and I actually yawned on accident. One of those where you hold it but you can visibly see it when your nostrils flare and etc.?

Yeah the customer almost punched me in the face for that. Tbqh I was phasing out everything he was saying because he was complaining about customer service while I'm just a security guard by the door.

Daughter
> She sucked a CEO dick and got a PA job under him , her employer regrets wasting time and resources on her. An embarrassment to you......
>>
>>35387249
That's not what I asked. To climb the ladder, say your employer invests in your training and you gain the skills and experience necessary to jump ship and gain a better position in another company why wouldn't you do it? It's pretty cucked if you stay worse off out of loyalty to a company that values you less. The employer only trains you to increase the prosperity of his company. You're an asset. So why shouldn't they be a stepping stone?
>>
>>35386642
Yawning means that you are actually trying to listen to the person even though you're tired. If you weren't making an effort then your body wouldn't bother moving the oxygen to your brain to deal with it.
>>
>>35386608
I really wanna hear an update on this but I don't think I'll be able to
>>
>>35386163
pointing out the fallacies of an argument is not an argument
>>
>>35387311
Sure, but theres a reasonable timeframe to make the jump to a better job.

Depends on the industry you're in.

In a specialist/niche industry, If you get a high level of training and bail on the company within a short period of time, word will pass around, through references or otherwise that you lack loyalty/respect.

In a field of work where people change jobs all the time, the 'training' isn't anything substantial as they don't expect employees to stick around long.
>>
>>35387461
Alright fair enough. I appreciate this advice. The thing is I've only been in a job six months but I'm not making enough to live on. I'm going to get a day's worth of training this month but if I can work in the same field and get more hours elsewhere, shouldn't I do it?

Except you don't need to use logical fallacies to argue for or against that, you can instead just use facts, logic, and reasoning.

The truth isn't determined by who and how it's argued, the truth is the truth.

Just because they use a fallacy doesn't mean they're wrong, it's like if I said "Eating healthy is good for you because it's popular." Eating healthy is good for you, but the person argued that point using the bandwagon fallacy. That doesn't make them wrong.

In addition to that, we don't know what we don't know, so acting like someone is wrong because they used a fallacy is retarded.

i hate this comic '''artist'''
>>
>>35387664
Highly illuminating post, anon.

>>35387735
Use of logical fallacies negates the validity of the argument, not the veracity of the conclusion. If you can be reasonably certain that your conclusion is true, you should be able to argue for it without resorting to logical fallacies.

i was talking about the stupid fucks that point out the fallacies with no other input and think that it counts as an argument, you fucking retarded piece of shit, no need to get so assblasted you imbecile.

identifying fallacies is not wrong, it helps as contructive criticism and as a way to refute false info, but using it as an "argument" is not right

>>
>>35386163
That's called a fallacy fallacy, right?
>>
>>35389317
Pointing out fallacies is never an argument, it's a demonstration of the invalidity of the opponent's argument. There's no need for a counter-argument unless there's a valid argument to counter.

Maybe if you made an argument with multiple points, and your opponent pointed out a fallacy in one of those points while ignoring the others, or if you insulted your opponent while making an argument and they mistook that for ad hominem, and dismissed your argument on that basis, you'd be right in saying they don't have reasonable grounds to dismiss your point, but if your argument is entirely fallacious then your opponent is totally justified in pointing out the fallacies used and leaving it at that.

>>35387735
