I use my MBA as a laptop for the majority of the time, but I use it at my desk when I do some gaming or just want to enjoy the superior desktop display. It's much easier to have one single machine rather than a separate laptop and desktop.

I had a two monitor set up at one point. It was nice, but I don't really do anything productive enough to justify it. If I were to go multi-monitor again I'd either need a much bigger desk to accommodate my speakers, or separate stands and the necessary extra space (which I'll probably never have).

Virtual desktops are so much comfier desu. If you learn to use them you only ever need one big-ass monitor, which is perfect if you use a laptop though that does imply leaving your bedroom, which is impossible on /r9k/, though it is nice to have with a laptop in bed and multitask like that.
