Some music I wrote for a character who died in autistic story. They were attacking a super-cannon that was setting up to destroy the tree-city they lived in, and she volunteered to go along on the mission (she was the main character's wife so she was fairly important and didn't really need to go along, but after he had died she desperately wanted to protect their children). So she joined the mission to sneak in and plant charges while the fleet laid siege to it outside. She got hit by a mortar and was hurt badly by the shrapnel, then got pinned down holding off enemy soldiers after they planted the charges. She got shot like a half-dozen times while she and her friend (the main character's friend who is the only original character left alive) were pinned down, and he had to listen to her getting hit over and over. Then she killed them all and he ran to drag her outside before the bombs went off, and he held her while she bled to death in the trenches, staring at the stars.

I listened to some music on the train the next day -- the A.N.O remix of Turn It Down, and imagined the main character on his way home from the battle, thinking about his dead friend. Then a few months later I wrote this piece that is a little bit similar. I wanted it to be hauntingly sad and I hope it came close to accomplishing it's goal. It's a bit slow at first but give it a chance.

I'm not avoiding getting laid, but I'm definitely avoiding getting into a relationship. I don't see the point in "testing the waters" with relationships unless I'm ready to dive the fuck in, and I'm not diving the fuck in until I can afford a really nice pair of goggles, know what I mean?
