Who else here has Visual Snow?

Apparently it's a rare visual disease that makes your vision clouded with a film of something akin to television static. A better example would be camera noise from a high ISO shot.

I've had it for as long as I can remember really, but didn't really notice it was something that wasn't normal until a few years back.

Who else knows what this is like?
>>
>>35314112

It isn't normal?
>>
>>35314112
I've remembered having it since I was like 12 or 13, after I took 25i-nBome it got lots worse and has been bad for 3-4 years now.
>>
>>35314547
No, apparently not. From my understanding, it's neurological. There is a certain part of the brain that has to do with your vision and is hyperactive. It all results into that filter of static.

>>35314570
That's a shame, anon. Mine I think has gotten more noticeable as of recently. I'm going to go to an eye doctor soon and get an exam done to see if there is anything I should really worry about with my vision. Sadly, VS isn't my only problem, too.
>>
>>35314112
I've had this since I was very young, I always thought it was normal.
>>
Only when it's dark. I hope it doesn't get worse.
>>
>>35314741
>Many sufferers also have non-visual symptoms such as fatigue, tinnitus or depersonalization and derealisation.

I've also had periods of depersonalisation since I was 8, weird.
>>
>>35314112
Does it count if I only have it in complete darkness? one of my earliest memories is trying to ask what these floating colored dots were by pointing them out to my grandma but she didn't understand what I was asking.
>>
>>35314112
wait a minute, i have this too i always thought it was normal
it does kind of look like there is static over my eyes now...

>visual snow
>often have periods of depersonalization
>extremely vivid fantasy
>always tired and sleep around 16 hours every day

my brain is fucked
>>
>>35314931
Funny you mention Tinnitus, because one of the few studies there are on VS has linked people having VS to Tinnitus, I sorta do, too.
>>
>>35314711
Everyone has this you braindead fuck, what are you on about
>>
>>35314964
Tell me about your extremely vivid fantasy pls

This is generally how mine is during the day when I'm at my best, otherwise it can be a bit more exaggerated for whatever reason, like now.

But at night it's definitely more noticeable, and makes it a bit harder to see clearly.

I wasn't too down about this until the other day when I found a video that would help give relief for my Visual Snow, and it actually worked for a few minutes.

It was wild to see as clear as I did, and I didn't even have my glasses on. Here's the video, maybe you can test and see if it helps for a few minutes like it did for me, watch it in full screen:

>>
If it's so rare how come alot of people here have it?
I have it aswell.
>>
>>35315332
Rare according to doctors, but perhaps not to many people who have it are aware of it, or maybe only have it lightly, so they don't say anything about it. That's my guess.
>>
>>35315332
Also there isn't much know about Visual Snow, and there isn't too many people researching and studying it, so maybe it could be a little bit more common than whats told from the available research results at hand.
>>
That sucks. I have floaters and those are bad enough. Hopefully I don't get this too.
>>
>>35314964
dude are you me? i had visual snow all my life but it got worse when i got dp. do you wanna get in touch? i need to talk to somebody.
>>
I have it but it is only when it is dark or I try to focus on it that it's noticable. If an object is closeby or detailed, then there is no snow. It seems like other people have it way worse so I feel bad for them.
>>
sometimes at night if I stare a certain way I can barely see a slight flow of red dots but the moment I adjust my eyes any it goes away
not a big deal desu

I also have VS, its not a bit deal, even as an artist. At the end of the day its just like my visions is an old film which is sort of neat
>>
>>35314112
Is it bad? Because it sounds a bit comfy to me
>>
I sometimes get it when I wake up early in the morning when I turn the light to my bathroom and have my eyes closed while sitting on the toilet doing pee as I attempt to adjust to bright lights. It only lasts for 10-15 seconds.
>>
I've had VS and symptoms of fibromyalgia for 5 years now. all the symptoms got a lot worse a couple of years back and have been the same since then.
my IQ has fallen from 131 to 108 as a result. I feel mentally challenged, and I feel like I have to abandon my career prospects which I went to university for and learn a trade instead.
>>
>>35317305
ITS NOT COMFY REEEEEEE
FUCK
>>
I do but only if I go out of my way to pay attention to it. Sort of like how your ears are always making a sound but you don't really notice it.
>>
I just hear a ringing in my ears all day, every day. It's called tinnitus but it doesn't bother me, only at night when I'm trying to fall asleep. These days I mask it with noise or music. Normies always act like it's fucking AIDS though. They act weirded out.
>>
>>35316004
>being and sounding this desperate.

nah, you gotta learn to deal with shit on your own dude

sincerely, a VS'ing HPPD'er of many years (6 at the very least).

Mine isn't that bad either. The VS on the other hand is kind of worrying to me at the moment. Hopefully my eye doc will reassure me it's nothing to worry about.
>>
Holy shit. Depersonalization and visual snow started at about the same time for me. I was in my late teens.
>>
>>35317900
ive been dealing with hppd 100% on my own for 3 years nigger that has to be enough. are you the guy i was replying to?

im getting better, and im convinced ill be cured one day, but having someone that understands you never hurts.

im 90% convinced i would be cured if i had human contact or someone who i could share my thoughts with.
>>
>>35318638
its nothing to worry about. you can blame the jews for fucking up our gene pool leading to this shit though.
>>
is this really not normal? I see it all the time, but can ignore it and focus on things regularly, but can look at the "snow" rather if I want to.
>>
>>35316370 ur 3rd eye is open ur seeing energies brother
>>
>>35314112
IS THIS A TROLL THREAD LMAO
>>
>>35319602
I'm really too lazy to google this, but yea I'd say it is. from my understanding of optical nerves they aren't inert when you close your eyelids, and they can be made to produce stimuli by things other than light, even physical means (rubbing your eyes)

It all seems very normal. Plus there's the "eye floaters" which are also a very normal phenomenon many people feel weird about when they think about it. I'm pretty sure it's normal to still have stimuli when you close your eyes. People don't usually just perceive a pitch black canvas. And in darkness I think it's normal for the faded image and lack of light to produce similar static.
>>
>>35319772
i googled it and these are legitime things bro. but i think this thread is still troll as hell
>>
>>35319822
god you dense fuck. we have literal white noise in our vision at all times. its not normal. its not insanely rare, its not life threatening, but its not normal. why would anyone troll people with something like this. were suffering bro.

Accurate.

I took 17mg 2c-b and it got alot better....
>>
>>35319602
Yeah, it's pretty much the visual equivalent of telling someone that they are now breathing manually.
>>
>>35314112
Yeah I have this, never met anyone else who had it
Every time I brought it up online or tried looking for it, people who took too many drugs were usually the people who answer any calls
I'm glad there are so many people here who have it who understand what it's like

Not that it's even a problem, but it's just something I wish people understood about me
>>
>>35319772
eye floaters are just germs/bacteria on your eyes
visual snow is purely mental
>>
>>35314112
I have it. Can't watch blue sky anymore and dark rooms are not dark
>>
>>35315426
Everyone has it but once you notice it, you can not unnotice it anymore. That is why I always instruct people who I am telling about it that they should not try to find it.

>>
>>35314711
this is 100% normal.

Right guys? Is this not another thing I'm JUST learning about myself? The kaleidoscope type effect of fireworks when I close my eyes that's normal too? The bright colorful lights?

That's normal right? Or... is that why a lot of these music videos have that kaleidoscope effect. Like Chrvches "Gun" video.

What about the fireflies. The sparklies around everything. That's normal too?
>>
>>35315332
because we are all related you fucking idiot.

i don't have visual snow at all.
