Just pretend they're regular average looking people that you know and talk to on a daily basis

What worked for me is just to ignore pretty girls and focus on the upper-average/qt ones. Pretty girls are too used to being hit on, so they have high expectations for how they want you to behave.

Of course, for this you have to forgo the possibility of a pretty gf, but i find qt girls perfectly adequate
