Why was WWI so boring?
>>35309856
WWI >>>>> WWII
>>35309856
It wasn't, there was all kinds of crazy shit going on. It just got overshadowed by WW2.
>>35309856
Why do you think it was boring?
It wasn't. It just doesn't have the 6 gorillion so hollywood doesn't romanticize it as much

>this autistic fucker attacked the exact same position 11 times in a row leading to the pointless deaths of hundreds of thousands
robot or chad?
it's neglected, not "boring"
Read Iron Storm OP It show that war was not always boring
>>35310167
I think he meant Storm of Steel
>>35309889
This, WWI was anything but boring
>>35310121
Failed chad for sure
>>35310264
Yes I mixed up with the game

Wait, each one WW1 are we talking about here, the one from 1914-1918 or the one from 1756-1763?
Why don't we have movies and games about WW1? Why don't cartoons , shows, and movies reference WW1?
>>35310354
because it's too hard to use the good goy vs bad goy narrative which makes extreme violence justified.
>>35310354
there's a great miniseries called 37 days, about the lead-up to the warand battlefield 1
>>35309856
>>35309889
WWI was a lot more interesting than WWII imo. Weaponry wasn't as advanced, so battles were actually interesting.
>>35310391
>battlefield 1
that's a dieselpunk fantasy game inspiried by WWI
>>35310354
Because it was a long time ago and was overshadowed by WWII, also there are WWII veterans alive today. There are many forgotten wars filled with epic examples of improbable heroism and ingenious strategy, the fact that WWI is even remembered by the average non historian is a testament to it.
>the most influential war with regards to technology and changes in military tactics and sheer casualties was boring
yeah ok kid. the downfall of the war was that there wasn't quite the level of video recorded, so it's more easily forgotten.
>>35310354
Britons reminds of the 1st july, French about Verdun, the gerMans and the russians remember about ww2.
We just think of intense bombing, failed assault and death. That's a shame we just remember few about this war.

Couldn't you say that about every single video game based on a war?
I think the game does a good job at not getting too deviated from the actual war.
Because they wrote a more action-packed sequel with more marketable characters.
It's not as morally clear as WWII, so it can't be used to make people feel good about themselves or shame others so easily.
