I just hung up and they sent a car anyway. I remember being so scared because I had just broken the dynamic and was afraid this would make my parents mad at me.

Even had I been able to overpower my stepfather when this stuff was going on I probably wouldn't have for some weird rationalization that it would make them upset with me that I was getting involved.

I don't know how old OP is but dealing with this kind of shit when you're younger is pretty difficult due to all the conflicting emotions. You view your parents as authority figures but at the same time they are going crazy and hurting each other and you don't know what to do.
