We need to know, definitively, what is comfy and what is cozy.

Not going to get too deep into this but I think comfy is more of a state of mind and cozy has more links to the physical. The two are intrinsically linked, of course; a cozy blanket makes you comfy.

When people say their tendies and alcohol (for example) are comfy, they aren't describing physical properties but rather, are describing their conduciveness to a comfy atmosphere or mindset.

Hmm.. I think Comfy is more like "Current life comfy", and cozy is more like "Sipping a stout in a mountain cabin"; it inspires comfort, but is classically fine tuned, whereas comfy is "Current state comfort".
