Why did this yellow and white dress get so much attention? Is it just a normie meme?
>>35269046
>yellow and white
anon I think you're colorblind
>>35269144
im not him but im pretty sure that is part of the joke
>>35269046
it was a psyop to gauge memetic diffusion in the culture
>>35269144
it is white and yellow
>>35269046
>yellow and white
Human detected. The dress is black and gray with a slight tint of blue.
>>35269144
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_dress
It's white and gold
>dress
*washcloth
>>35269046
C'mon man, these slowpoke memes aren't funny anymore
Yes, its just a cringeworthy norman meme
You also can't bait me into arguing over its color
>>35269230
>>35269255
>Although the actual colour of the dress was confirmed to be blue and black, the image prompted discussions surrounding the matter across various platforms, with users discussing their opinions on the colour and why they perceived the dress as being a certain colour. At the same time, members of the scientific community began to investigate the photo for fresh insights into human colour vision.
>>35269255
my eyes are confirmed good. the page said royal blue and black. I need to know what the fuck you other idiots were thinking when saying otherwise
>>35269318
How is it in any way black? Blue I might concede, since the white is sort of pale greyish, but the rest is clearly gold.
>>35269359
Some subhumans don't process the lighting correctly in their brain and it looks white and gold
>>35269287
are you retarded? MS paint it and color drip it.
it's light blue/grey because of the shade which we assume is white and dark yellow
>>35269359
THE RETAILER SAID BLUE AND BLACK. CMON NIGGA
>>35269392
>>35269436
>>35269318
>my eyes are confirmed good these two dresses have the same exact color.
>>35269221
This quite seriously
>>35269471
>tfw people today don't understand the idea of trolling anymore
>>35269497
>he's not aware of the trolling layers
I have 69 layers of irony and trolling. You got only one.
>>35269517
>implying he isn't
>implying you didn't just get trolled
It's blue and black
It's literally a forced normie twitter meme
You fucktards are colorblind if you think otherwise
All you blue and black faggots are falling prey to an optical illusion. Literally use a color picker and you'll see that the stripes are brown/gold and the sleeves are a soft blue.
>>35269563
If you see it as blue and black then your eyes are overcompensating for the white balance, meaning you spend too much time outside in the sun. AKA you're a normie.
>>35269545
>implying YOU didn't just get trolled
I'm a higher level troll than you.
>>35269046
>The picture in the OP was white and yellow an hour ago and now it's blue and black.
My eyes never fail to be retarded.
>>35269395
not the other guy. but true ms paint would of picked up the color of which the potato camera took.
That is where the confusion lays - because the dress is color X and the potato made it look color Y. The White is reflecting something that was picked up as the colour blue/gray whatever the fuck it is.
And the normies are so fucking bored they cling on to anything controversial from social media..also possible psy ops as this anon mentioned >>35269221
They done well shilling this ugly dress.
>>35269622
>he fell for it AGAIN
HAHAHAHAH
>>35269046
not a normie meme some people's brains process the picture as if it is under natural light while other people's brains process it as if it is under artificial light. The dress is black and blue.
>>35269713
What does it mean if it changed after about 30 minutes since I last checked?
>>35269563
>implicating that the implicator implicated to the implicatee that he implied implications on the implicata?
>>35269707
>he thinks I fell for it
No (You) did
>>35269746
you ave autism
it highlighted genetic differences that affected perception of color, differences that are taboo to discuss and not generaly knowledge in our society because of the nazis
>>35269046
Holy shit, holy fucking shit, I see it. I see both colors now.
I feel like I have reached a higher level of enlightenment.
>>35269605
>overcompensating
Do you really not know what that word means? It's like elementary school vocabulary. The dress is blue and black in real life.
>>35269746
You learned something since then. First I saw the image for what it is a dress which is black and blue then I started reading about it and now I see it as gold-is black and blue
>>35269046
It's not a meme. Memes evolve; this doesn't.
>>35269831
No, I already knew a long while ago that it was actually black and blue, and had during that time seen it in multiple different colors.
I just find it weird how the exact same image on the same computer on the same light setting could change in such short a time.
Are the people who can't see it's blue/black conelets or brainlets who cant adjust for obvious overexposure?
It's just an optical illusion based on how your brain interprets it.
Natural and artificial light have a different light temperature (blue to yellow), but your brain filters that away (imagine you are usin flux and don't notice that orange taint after some minutes anymore)
Look at that pic during the day with natural light and it will look differently than looking at it at night with artificial light.
Blue/Black and White/Gold are simply the base image minus yellow light or minus blue light
it's just a mind blowing effect, especially if two people see it differently or if it switches for you
anyone got the gif that shows the color changing effect by moving it into a shadow?
That was like the best explanation in like two seconds
Not sure what the commotion on this one is, its clearly white and gold, the blue hue is probably the light of something else reflecting on it, like >>35269645
Said
this was the worst meme of 2015
>>35269177
>Thinks that post wasn't a joke
We've moved up in our levels of irony now grandpa.
>>35271281
It's just that optical effect
>>35271385
something more as an example
>>35271160
pic explanation
people couldn't really get what the colors were. i see yellow and white. its the shadows of black being there.
>>35271432
>blue shadow
the background of the original picture is literally glowing with light
>>35271502
Yes, in the background
But your brain can still think that the dress has a shadow on it's front (because the light comes from the back)
That's the best
>stare at the middle
>it turns blue/black
>others yellow/white
>look at one to check them out
>it turns blue/black
>middle one turns yellow/white
It's like playing around with that dancing ballerina gif and changing direction
>>35271229
You can clearly see the piss yellow of incandescent bulbs shining on everything there. You guys are fucking retarded.
>>35271575
Bottom of the pic has yellow color temperature, top is blue
which is why
>>35271160
and
>>35271432
are correct
ive seen yellow gold the first time i ever saw this normie meme. blue and black every time after
>>35269046
>actual dress is blue and black
>picture is blue and black
if you see white and gold and you are literally colorblind
>>35271568
The left and right get even more deep blue and black when I stare at the center wtf
>>35271675
No retard, if you see blue and black you can't differentiate hue and luminous inputs, you only see un brute colors, use the color picker and bucket, and tell me is not gold / pale blue
To the white-gold faggots: does this still look white?
>>35269046
I have only ever seen gold and yellow. It has never even come close to blue and black for me. Am I subhuman or master race?
>>35272152
Try to switch.
You need to visualize another light source or imagine it different
see here
>>35271432
>>35271160
>>35271413
You can switch the color if you switch your mindset.
>>35269046
>>35271432
Man I just do not see how anyone could think of that shade of blue as white, isn't it too vivid a blue to look like it's under a shadow?
>>35272152
What your brain is seeing is a white/gold dress that has a shadow on it
What it should see is a black/blue dress with a bright light on it
You need to change that by thinking and vizualizing it differently
>>35272253
>I just do not see how anyone could think of that shade of blue as white
Especially when there's an almost pure white to compare the blue against in the upper and lower right corners.
>>35272084
yes actually. I can't see the other colors no matter how hard i try
>>35272253
Because the brain literally filters that blue away before sending the image to the inner eye
It's basic color correction by removing the shadow. It thinks it's a white dress with just a shadow on it so it sends you the signal of a white color
Have you ever tried f.lux? It's a tool that makes you screen orange at night so you can sleep better later
Anyone that enters your room or anytime you come back to your screen wonders why it's so orange, but if you use it you will perceive it as regularly white
And that's the same color correcting effect as here.
>>35272350
>ave you ever tried f.lux? It's a tool that makes you screen orange at night so you can sleep better later
>Anyone that enters your room or anytime you come back to your screen wonders why it's so orange, but if you use it you will perceive it as regularly white
I use it and I never see it as regularly white
>>35271568
theyre all a dark gold and white with blueish tinge
>>35272375
Hmm... Do you see the dress as dark blue/black or white/yellow or light blue/olive?
If it's light blue/olive your brain doesn't do that color correction
>>35272350
I can see the whiteness instead of blue in the beginning of your gif if I choose to, but I don't know. The blue in the static dress image seems way more saturated than the blue at the beginning of that gif.
> see dress picture for the first time
> some people say it's "black and blue"
> everyone else says it's "white and gold"
> i look at it
> i don't see either combination
> instead i see blue and a kind of brownish-goldish color
> i whip out mspaint to sample the colors and enlarge them
> mfw i am one of the very few people in the entire world who see the colors as they actually are
> d.. d.. do i have special powers?
>>35272350
even in your gif the dress still looks black and blue at the beginning, albeit washed out giving the black a slight gold tone. however, you can still easily tell it's black (and I have no idea where the white comes from, that's definitely blue throughout)
Am I the only person who saw it as white and gold, but while looking at it it slowly changed to blue and black?
>>35272438
Look here I called that
>>35272408
Nope. You have eye autism. You lack an ability that others have and see the literal colours just like autists only hear literal words
>>35269046
It's red and brown you fucking autist
>>35272445
That's what usually happens to white/gold people.
White/gold is the false way to perceive it that's why once the brain noticed that it made an error it will go to dark blue /black
>>35272501
>You lack an ability that others have and see the literal colours
Sounds like and advantage to me.
>>35271432
>first saw it exactly like it is on the right
>now only see it as it is on the left
I could have sworn that they simply had multiple of those pics online and some were white/gold, but it's weird how that moment of "what the fuck it wasn't white" is
>>35269046
this is clearly black and blue
>>35269046
For all the people who see black and blue -- do you perceive black as a true, dark, neutral black? Or do you perceive it as an "off" black like it has some brownish component to it?
FUCK
Jeepers creepers just stop it. Some people just see the colors differently.
>>35272730
In the circle it looks gold but given the context of the entire picture, it looks like a washed out black due to the over exposure of yellow light.
The dress has always looked blue and black to me. I was so relieved when i learned that it was actually blue and black. I genuinely thought i was going crazy.
Dang somone else posted this again?
I wonder.
Are there people sexually aroused by the waton dismay simply mentioning this will forever cause?
Or just like a clever interdimensional vampire that must feed on negative psychic energy?
