Any bots here with social anxiety who find it more difficult to converse online than in real life? In real life there are little social cues. You know when someone's joking, for example. Talking to people online sucks.

I'd say I find it almost equally hard. online for me it's a little easier than real life. I usually don't post though.
Rule of thumb is that everyone is always joking and never serious online. Look for proper grammar, capital letters, and correct punctuation if they're benig serious lel :P kek !

As someone who never did well with nonverbal cues i always found it easier to have conversations in an environment where they do not come into play (online)
When you talk to certain people online long enough a sort of nonverbal system develops similar to irl social cues, where you can tell the mood of the person through grammar, use of certain words, etc

Do you think this is maybe a problem for older people? I grew up when the internet was very young and stuff like Facebook and Myspace didn't exist. Maybe it's a generational thing.
