Kinda, the Spanish people speak is vastly different to what you'll find in books and other kind of media, if you try to learn Spanish you'll only be able to communicate on a basic level to "Mexican native" speakers, their language is a complete shitshow but mostly only people within their culture can really notice it, so obviously a local mexican is nothing but a monkey compared to a Spanish teacher
