I had that attack that makes the foe fall in love with you and attack less, but my friend said it was useless and put rain dance there to use with my magneton's thunder but I don't like magneton anyways.

Just make sure you have the version 1.0 of fire red, if you get it from emuparadise get Squirrels version. And then just use Lunar IPS to patch it.

I've been trying to get a decent one, but charizard sucks, ninetales and growlithe are boring, magmar is weak, slugma sucks-

The only one I'd consider is houndoom or cyndaquill, but even then I'm not sure they don't suck and they're difficult to find. But look at how cute cyndaquill is though!

Quilava is one of my favorite looking but probably not that strong. What does she look like in game? And you bring up fair points..personally I would try to teach someone fire punch or something. I used primeape for that but primeape is kinda squishy
