I think the best one would be a digital tv antenna. As a NEET, your cash is limited so paying for cable is out.

Internet is a must I'd say. You can use free Skype to make phone calls and email is great.

Smart phones are debatable. The data plans are expensive but if you can do a cheap WiFi cellphone, it might be worth it.
