You know that your roll gives you invincibility frames, right? You can easily roll through his swings once you learn his patterns.

DS1 starts to go downhill after acquiring the Lord Vessel. I'd still advise you to finish it, though. The last boss gives it a nice finishing touch, especially with the soundtrack.

Also don't feel bad about not finishing DS2. I didn't either because the game sucks ass.

You take that back motherfucker, Aldia's Keep was one of the single coolest fucking areas in any Souls game. It was everything I wanted the Duke's Archives to be with crazy experiments and shit running around. And Dragon Aerie was breathtaking even if it had pretty flawed design.

That being said, I will never be good at a Souls game because I pretty much exclusively use super tanky builds with Black Knight weapons. I just fucking love the way they play ever since I overcame my first Black Knight in the Undead Burgh. Trying to get through DS3's late game with that kind of build was pure hell though, the Princes and Nameless King straight up gangbanged me. I wound up beating the King by punching him out with the Dark Hand and Darkclutch Ring. It wasn't pretty but it was incredibly badass.

Sucks that you can't use the reinforced club on a SL1 run in 3 (it's too heavy). When I did it is DS1 I had a collection of reinforced clubs in every flavour. Manus was pretty tough.

Just don't get greedy with hits, manage your stamina and dodge. Make sure to upgrade your weapon whenever you can and use your early levels on health and stamina. Just make sure you have enough of your damage stats to use your weapon of choice.

You have to use whatever's at your disposal. When that comes to the kings, they can't be bled so you need to be using pyro. Also, try two-handing. Remember that it's a rushdown boss and you need to be doing damage as fast as possible or you'll be overwhelmed.

Just finished DS2:SotFS after only playing vanilla at release. All the DLCs were fantastic.
