How come people have such contradictory views on life?
i was joking with my mom and asked if trump would probably bring back the draft and she was like "i wish he would it would be good but all these liberals would throw a fit". but meanwhile if i killed myself theyd be all bent out of shape about it (probably). if i was drafted id go but does anyone else think the idea of it is fucked up, the government is telling you that you have to go do something that may kill you?
or if someone says something like that is it basically a green light for "yeah you can kill yourself if you want"

It's just nature. You do something for the society, and in return the society accepts and supports you. The civilian/citizen system from starship troopers is the barebone example. I'm not saying that it is bad if a society falls apart(more opportunities for the individual), but a society which does not realize this, like the modern western society will utimately succumb to stronger, stricter societys, belief systems or ethnics.
