Defending yourself means accepting the proper course of action might land you into trouble. You'll feel better knowing you took charge of your life and that the bad consequences are your choice and not someone else's. Also, courage is respected whether people consciously acknowledge it or not. Standing up for yourself is more a way of being than a physical capability.

Bullying, even light bullying/banter is an essential part of a youth's development to better prepare someone for the social world. Interacting with other people, social norms, knowing when banter is too much etc.

Any normie has either experienced some light bullying and been the bully at one point in their lives. It's what builds "healthy" social habits among youths.

I know how to stop bullying. Basically you have to foster a community of friendship and kindness between students. You have to bring people together through some common cause, and create a sense of companionship between students.
Also you should designate one student for all bullying to be focused on so only one person's life is ruined rather than many.

Teacher went out of the room, bullies started being assholes to him. He snapped, grabbed his chair and smashed the guy overhead and left him with a concussion.
