Yes I agree, I myself probably have what could be classified as depression but I just say I'm sad because my life is shit which is the truth. Depression is essentially very long-term sadness not a disease, though being sad all the time obviously has effects on mental health, brain chemicals and all that shit. I'm not trying to do any special snowflake "ive got social anxiety and im depressed" bullshit either.

See, my depression and anxiety are genetic. I never had a legitimate reason to be depressed. That's the worst to have. I don't have a shit life, It's just average yet I have to take meds for the rest of my life to feel semi-normal. I can never talk to anyone about it because I have no reason to be depressed, so I'd just come off as whiny or suicidal. It's even ruined a relationship with a girl who I wholeheartedly believed was the love of my life (no, not oneitis). Being isolated sucks.

Yeah I don't know, life IS shit, always has been and always will be so there is good reason to be depressed. I think it's a natural, logical response to life. As long as you can distract yourself or find meaning in some bullshit normalfag ideology you'll probably be alright but I can't fall for that. In reality all I probably need is a friend and a gf so I'd stop thinking about all shit but even those would be fleeting pleasures/happiness, just as you described. Anyway good luck.

Gf won't help. Dated the love of my life for 2 years and we lived together. My depression drove her away because I refused to go to therapy. Now I'm in therapy and doing better day by day but nothing I can do can get her back. A gf would just be your crutch and that's not healthy
