unless I can get a guarantee that I can find a navy bf who will do that to me I don't know if I am interested

Because I'm an anxious, incompetent weakling who hates being yelled at and bossed around.

The military would be miserable for me.

Because I already got myself kicked out.
Apparently laidback NEET lifestyle doesn't transition well to strict military life.

Sad I can't get the benefits or go to college, and I joined primarily with intention of volunteering to serve and have done something good with my life, but on the other hand my personality doesn't mesh well and can't stand other people or their bullshit. Which is oh so prevalent in the military. I saw a lot of women getting it very easy, even smirking at us guys who took the brunt of the work.

Is it easy to join the part of the air force where you just fly drones and stuff if you play lots of flight simulator video games? Also, I'm not sure if my country even has a chair force, so theoretically could I emigrate to America and join their chair force, or do they only accept people born in their own country?
>>
>>35208785
If I was tied up like that I'd get a boner real quick

Is it true the navy is the gayest branch in the US?

I've been thinking of joining the Navy for quite some time, actually. From my understanding, they'll pay for college, provided I put in the time.

Obvious roadblocks being, of course, general anxiety (which I imagine I can get over), poor physique, and my inability to swim.
>>
>>35210061

Army. I had to re-weigh/tape because I'm right on the edge of their bf% limit. I also had some small bullshit issues they called me out on but it's not a biggie. Most people can go right away, some people it takes a few times until they're satisfied.
>>
>>35209760
ADF you can join as officer without a degree (assuming you have high tier HS grades, and not for specialist service officers e.g. surgeons, engineers, etc.) but its strongly encouraged, and you'd be expected to get one before advancing too far up the ranks if you don't already have one.
>>
>>35210169
what country you in lad?

also IIRC drone handlers are basically the same as pilots except w/o the physical requirements e.g. perfect eyesight, since you need to be able to manually fly the drone in some cases and you have to be an officer to perform munitions launches and stuff. I could be wrong though.
>>
The Air Force just made it so you can get in easily with a waiver for asthma (if you pass a pulmonary function test). So, I'm definitely considering it.
>>
>>35208785
I'm in poor physique, don't like people yelling at me, depression, anxiety, sucidal.
Would any branch accept me?
>>
>>35210467
My boypussy would accept you
>>
>>35210169
That's called sensor operator (you can only control cameras) and no, it's not easy. It's a popular job. With the AF you make a list of 10 jobs you want. Every month the AF drops a list of jobs it needs to fill. If a job you chose is on the list, you're sort of obliged to go or your recruiter will drop you.
Not sure about the Navy but I know you can choose a guaranteed job in the Army and Coast Guard. In the Coast Guard you don't even have to choose a job. You can wait over a year if you wanted before committing to a job school.
>>
>>35210467
Assuming you meet the initial minimums to join up the physique thing will be ok (they'll get you into shape). Assuming you have to meet 15 pushups (not sure) and are doing pushups to a 2 second cadence, that's only 30 seconds per set. Just do a few sets of pushups a day and you'll bulk out pretty quickly - upper body is very responsive to that kind of exercise. Similarly for situps and stuff. Also go jogging and do HIIT (high intensity interval training) / Tabata program to get your cardio system up.

If you don't like people yelling at you, you'd hate boot camp but after that you should be more or less OK assuming you don't fuck up too often or severely. Or go officer if you have the smarts for it and you'd have a lot better treatment.

p. sure suicidal ideation is an instant disqualifier, not sure about depression / anxiety but suspect it would be as well. Then again, unless you've been diagnosed professionally you could just omit that and say you feel fine (you can lie about minor things to the recruiters but if they catch you you'll get shit-canned so be careful, and some things e.g. the medical is there to prevent you from hurting yourself so it's best not to lie about past health problems etc.)

What is the root cause of this depression? if you're just unhappy with your life maybe the military lifestyle would be a positive change - you'd feel better for being kept physically fit, and some people prefer a more regimented lifestyle e.g. set times for waking up and doing things throughout the day.

How severe is basic training in the Navy? I've always been under the impression that your instructors would be less inclined to yell in your face all hours of the day (than in the Marines, at least), but I could be mistaken.
>>
I'm in the military and it wasn't what I thought it was.

Getting out in 9 months
>>
>>35210846
not a navy guy so can't answer specifically.

The purpose of basic training (apart from the fitness and learning skills stuff) is to essentially break you down and rebuild you as someone for whom actions benefiting the team are higher priority than those benefiting the individual (e.g. if I go into this room to turn off the valve I might die, but if I don't the ship may sink, so I better go turn off that valve - that sort of thing).

Naturally this reconditioning doesn't happen easily, so they wear you down physically (fitness) and mentally (less sleep, yelling, etc).

Also, Navy might have less need for fitness in some areas (e.g. running distances under a time limit) but will make up for it with others (I'm guessing there's a swimming test involved)
>>
>>35209433
Who needs the navy for that?
>>
How would a 5'8" 120 lb guy do in a branch of the military
>>
>>35210846
I've always heard that in terms of severity it's

Marines>Army>Navy>Air Force

but I'm just a civilian. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
>>
>>35208785
Tried last month and they said I ca't ever join because my medical records show I have been treated for depression on 3 different occasions.

Apparently in the British military the limit is 2.

Generally speaking, they don't want anyone in the "underweight" or "obese" BMI categories, and based on your info you're underweight.

However underweight is the better problem to have since it's fairly easy to put on weight (if you're one of these people who has trouble gaining weight, I recommend "Russian bear 10k" mass gainer. It's the equivalent of four days worth of food in one serving), and if you can put on a few pounds of muscle without gaining too much fat you'll be very well prepared.

Because I need to be able to get a clean medical record so my psychiatry visits/prescription drug usage (which my parents make me go to/take even as an adult) isn't revealed. I was diagnosed with Aspergers as a kid by professionals and this and the drugs are on my doctor's record.

I've wanted to join since highschool, but it just seems to out of reach between needing to lie about the medical issue. Oh, and my upper body strength sucks so I'm terrible at pushups (I can run the 2 miles or however much they want no problem though).

Peep this article my dude: https://www.thebalance.com/i-cannot-tell-a-lie-3332704

Specifically, this part:

"Based on the advice of his recruiter, a Marine recruit failed to report that he had been diagnosed in the past with depression. He made it through basic training but became depressed during infantry training. The medical officials located and obtained his civilian medical records and discovered the diagnosis. He was given an "Under Other Than Honorable Conditions" (UOTHC) Discharge."

I'd still apply (do your own research to see if it's worth it or an immediate disqualifier), but be completely honest about it with them. The worst they can do is say "no" and send you away.

As far as upper body goes, just do pushups every day. The first one is the hardest, once you can do one with good form it's easier to get from one to two, two to three etc. Set a goal (fifteen or twenty pushups), do as many as you can with good form, and then when you can't any more drop down to pushups from your knees, if you can't complete that do ones where you stand up and lean into a wall and do pushups against the wall. The most important thing is to do as many as you can at least once a day (except if you over train and need a day to recover, you will know it when you feel it. E.g. if you can normally do five but struggle to do two just stop for the rest of the day and the next day, then resume pushup training)
>>
>>35208785
I am though. Doing navy and hopefully going OCS with my math degree. Just gotta get in shape first. Lost 17lbs so far.
>>
>>35211595
peacetime infantry is basically NEET life + exercising
>>
>>35208785
Bad shape, diagnosed anxiety and depression, I'm sure they've written down that I have been suicidal before as well
>>
>>35211841
So I can't just get a new doctor and don't bother informing them about the drugs I've been prescribed (I rarely take them now except when I need to sleep) and my psychiatric history? They'll track down my current doctor and thus my past psychiatrists if they need to?

Because I thought that having ever been prescribed drugs like Risperidone and Sertraline (the two drugs I've taken) is an automatic disqualifier.
>>
>>35208785

>>
>>35211874
as a neet you eat well.
as a peacetime tecruit you eat shelf dust, you eat shit.

>>
Thought about joining but the reason I quit college was the pettyness of respecting people who dont give a shit about me and treat me like shit just because they can. Plus all the annoying dumbasses you will be forced to deal with daily

I'd rather be homeless than join the military aka HighSchool 2.0

Plus the pay is literaly retail tier, I'd rather become a shitty manager in some store and earn more money
>>
>>35212731
I wouldn't.

Read that article linked in the other post, lying to enlist is a felony crime punishable by three years prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

It might be a disqualifier, but if you ask they might be able to get you a waiver. The worst they can do is say "no".

You probably won't be eligible for combat duties or any overseas deployments (they don't send you overseas if there is some chance that your medications might be interrupted e.g. if you were out at an FOB and an IED attack destroyed the vehicle carrying your meds) but you might be able to swing a comfy job in intel or something like that.
>>
>>35212819

>>35212904
AFAIK for the ADF the age cutoff is around 50 to 55, but that said you'd have a lot harder time trying to meet the medical and fitness requirements at that age.

It's a pretty simple method and it works for sure. I recommend you to go to the army since they will "erase" your Robot personality.
>>
>>35213028
Which is what I'd want to do. I wouldn't want to be the guy in the Humvee. I know they have jobs which are basically like retail with taking inventory and moving shit around and stuff, but since it's the military they pay more, give more free stuff, better career advancement, and people respect you more as a soldier than some retail drone. Am I wrong?
>>
>>35213285
Yeah, logistics / quartermaster stuff, transport, finance, HR and administrative, education, recruiting, all are important functions that a military cannot do without.
>>
>>35212819

>>
>>35214482

PMCs aren't even that bad, except for the ones that have been confirmed as being bad (like Sandline and Blackwater). Most PMCs just do logistics work which is little different than how governments contract construction businesses to work on roads and public buildings. The problem with PMCs is when they do security work and such.
