The problem is with fundamentalists who interpret scripture as literal fact. Most mainstream Protestant denominations (with a notable exception or two) don't treat it like literal history, and instead see it as an allegory describing the vast power of god.

As a human I also feel the need to correct the behaviours of my fellow man to what I myself deem to be true or correct, as unity is beneficial for the survival of the group. There's a small bit of detesting for the entire ideologue mindset in me as well. The type of thinking, where things are accepted as absolute fact without argumentation or evidence. This is how millions die, even more suffer and societies are ruined.

/pol/ is an amazing example of this ideologue mindset right on this site and how cancerous it is when ideologues come together to affirm eachothers' views without challenge. Atheism is no such thing. It's the lack of a certain type of ideology (belief in deities) and nothing more. Whatever behaviour you attach to atheism has nothing to do with it and everything to do with the people themselves and most often is either their own ideologous mindset, or non-ideologues being triggered by the Christfag's ideologism.

Whether or not you "believe" in evolution, the fundamentals of genetics has resulted in tools that allow for mass production of things like insulin without the extraction from animal feedstock.
