This has been my entire college experience. I think it's rude to go around telling people how well I did and I also don't want stupid people begging me for help if I'm not friends with them. Also in my experience all professors hand out exams face down as to keep grades confidential.

In my highschool AP Calc class, our teacher would who got the highest score on quizes and tests, so in many cases the class would know what I got from that.
For me it was a huge confidence-booster, but for others it was probably the opposite.
