Am I the only person who doesn't do well making small talk but loves interviews and public presentations?

Put me an informal circumstance with anyone and I'll be pulling spaghetti out of my pocket. I couldn't carry a conversation about sports to save my life, but don't get even remotely anxious when I have to impress strangers. I've always looked forward to public speaking engagements and interviews as a way to show off and get a bit of respect.
