This happened to me in high school. The guy was like 15 or 16 and wrecked a motorcycle.

So i dont really know too much why this happend but when I was like 14 someone who was like 15 in the opposite part of the school from where my classes were toke his life.

I wasn't exactly a cool kid by any stretch of the imagination, but I had a nice little group of weirdoes to hang out with. Eric the Egyptian guy, Grady who'd been in a McDonald's commercial, Patrick who was obsessed with the Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, and this one super gay black kid whose name I can't remember, Vadim the Ukrainian metalhead, Mary who let me touch her boob once. My school was in Hollywood, so that kind of stuff wasn't that odd.

Then, though, there was my classmate and friend Nikki. Blonde, kinda gothy. I thought she was hot as fuck, but we were like 12 so who knows. She wasn't in the group. I never saw her hang out with anybody else, really. The other girls called her a slut, but I never saw any indication of it. I think it was just because she was a cute blonde girl who didn't hang out with them.

We used to sit at the tables near the cafeteria. We talked about random stuff. I don't remember most of it, but I remember her complaining about her super-religious parents, and the other girls bullying her.

Nikki disappeared one day. Not a word, she was just gone.

A few months later - I think it was after summer break, once we'd started eighth grade - our homeroom teacher had an announcement. She sadly told us that Nikki's parents had moved, and she'd been transferred to a new school. Only a few weeks later, she killed herself. Hung herself.

She was 13 years old. So were we. Nobody else really seemed to care. Even my friends just joked about it. I didn't really understand how I felt about it back then, either.

Now, though, I wonder, you know? Why she did it. Why she didn't do it earlier. If I could've done something different, maybe helped her. If maybe I was the reason she didn't do it until we were forcibly separated. I guess I'll never know. It still hurts, though, even almost 18 years later.
