I've been sticking with earlier animu as well, last new thing I tried to watch was Katanagatari, and it just wasn't sticking. Recently watched Jin-Roh, and MD Geist, and I'm watching Cyber City Oedo 808 right now.

I can't help but look at geek culture with distain. I remember using Ventrilo back in the day and hosting it on my spare P4 desktop after getting my dad to forward the ports. Now everyone is on the Discord botnet. 25, and I can't keep up with all the mainstream phone apps - is it still snapchat that's popular? Is Instagram still supposed to be hip? Is everyone deserting facebook?

I'm rambling now, but it's all incredibly fucked, isn't it? And I wasn't even around for 4chan in its prime.

Lesse. She was a petite girl with red hair. Very peppy. Don't have an actual photo of her handy but mean to search old HDs sometime. Went to anime conventions dressed as Edward from Cowboy Bebop and was interested in art.

I met her in a sci-fi/fantasy/anime club. I was a Senior and she was a Sophomore. Asked her to prom and she said yes but her parents wouldn't let her go due to age difference and so on.

She died in a car wreck on an icy road. Pretty common way for young people to die in the Midwest. I was away at college and couldn't come home for the funeral. I heard she was cremated, didn't see a grave for her at either of my hometown's cemeteries.

Googled her name and got some Spokeo site that thought she was alive and 30. Really hit me in the feels.
