i think this usually has more to say about the older generation than the younger one. tv or video games don't change biology that much, their attention span is fine they just don't give a shit about what you're saying. since schools have fallen behind culture so fucking badly and far more parents/moms are constantly working, people's values skip over academics or traditional life skills. but there are innovations that come out of that. where are these kids going to go when parents stop giving them money? they'll either have to become slaves to "protesting" or learn those skills. it's not hard or meaningful to understand taxes or how to cook.

Not only that, it's the constant access to endless entertainment in your pocket. In anybody's pocket, they have a music player with access to every song ever written, access to watch infinite videos and movies, access to endless escapist entertainment, access to video games, access to read and learn more about anything they could want to, and the ability to talk to or write to anybody in the world at any given second.

While that sounds great, it's led to a generation of brainless, impolite dumbasses who can't focus without forcing themselves to. Any time they have to focus for more than a minute, they reach for their phone. They're not used to having to focus.
