Not the OP but I've only been here since about 2011. Frogposting as a real thing was much later, like 2013-15. The piss bottle guys really ruined it, and that was about 2013-15.

r9k in 2011 was just perfect. "Failed normies" were welcome, but they were a different type of person entirely to the normie that posts today. I think the real nail on the coffin was the shift from "gentlemen" to "robot", a 'gentleman' is something to aspire to, a gentlemen is sensitive and intelligent, and listens before responding.

If r9k were to have a revival, it would have to get rid of "robot essentialism", embrace the identity of 'gentlemen', repell the alt-right cucks, and start actively posting genuine new and interesting content rather than relying on a sense of the board as defined by memes.

It would also help if the board went blue.

If the board were to be revived it would essentially become /b/ without the endless, mindless, repetition.
