Why are we all trapped inside a 1.5 kilogram biological network?
You can hold what was once a whole individual in one hand, and throw it on the ground and watching it splatter like it's nothing.
I get now that there is no soul as we know it, because the essence of an individual is depending on the brain structure. But there is one last mystery, the subjective point.

Why here, why now, why me?

I don't know much, but let's say you have a computer program (in any computer language, lets say C). Things work more or less close to the hardware (the structure of the computer) depending on your perspective.
In order, from far to close.

- C language (understandable interface of instructions between the user and computer)
- assembly language (basic operations taking care of the data)
- hardware (storing/moving/erasing/creating sets of binaries (0's or 1's))

I'm no computer scientist, though, those at >>>/g/ are more qualified on the subject.

You can use few transistors to build a logic gate.
You can use a couple of logic gates to build a registers, multiplexers, arithmetic units and stuff like that.
Then you can put everything together and you can understand how it works.
It's interesting stuff, but you don't have to understand it if you just want to program it.

>How do you PROGRAM IT??
Unless you're doing really complex stuff, you don't really program it. You program on top of it.
You run an operating system and you write software for it. Much easier.

Why do normies insult each other so much? I remember in school, people would put each other down for the simplest things. I was a quiet kid, and never really got bullied, but I could never understand people who did that. I've heard the excuse that it's just 'busting your balls', but if someone gives a criticism about me, I'm going to take them 100% seriously. Why would you be friends with someone if they're constantly putting you down? If your group of friends is mocking you for some reason, even if it's as simple as having a bad haircut, why stay? I don't understand, maybe I don't want to understand, but why are normies so mean/rude?
>>

All I see is a grey car, another grey car and a third grey car

That's some "watching trains and writing down notes" level of autism, but all the normies know about cars.

It's more common in school when you're a kid and teenager so you learn to toughen up.

I had a sheltered early childhood so around like grade 4 when some kid called me something that rhymed with my name I just cried and cried and cried and cried and cried and he was probably more traumatized than I was because he was just probably just kidding.

It's worse for me because I do get it.

It's a hivemind mentality, it's about investing yourself emotionally in your local sports team or some other sports team in some other part of the country or another country altogether and then everytime that your sports team win a sports game you get to go "hooray, WE won!". You get to feel like you were part of that victory. It's the same with politics.

Why there are so many brainlets. I understand why but it still makes me angry. People that fail to use basic reasoning ability, draw abstract conclusions from loose contextual pieces of information and move towards a conclusion based largely on ideological bias and confirmation bias. (Pizzagate, Joospiracies, Anti-GMO people, anti-vaccine people, flat earthers, etc.)

So many mongoloids just don't know how to think. I don't feel particularly gifted in anyway but seeing my intelligence contrasted to others is just disappointing. because many seem quite deem in many ways.

Let me tell you a little about me, kid.

In 7th grade, I took an SAT test without preparing for it at all, it was spur-of-the-moment, I knew about it about an hour ahead of time and didn't do any research or anything. I scored higher on it than the average person using it to apply for college in my area. An IQ test has shown me to be in the 99.9th percentile for IQ. This is the highest result the test I was given reaches; anything further and they'd consider it to be within the margin of error for that test. My mother's boyfriend of 8 years is an aerospace engineer who graduated Virginia Tech. At the age of 15, I understand physics better than him, and I owe very little of it to him, as he would rarely give me a decent explanation of anything, just tell me that my ideas were wrong and become aggravated with me for not quite understanding thermodynamics. He's not particularly successful as an engineer, but I've met lots of other engineers who aren't as good as me at physics, so I'm guessing that's not just a result of him being bad at it. I'm also pretty good at engineering. I don't have a degree, and other than physics I don't have a better understanding of any aspect of engineering than any actual engineer, but I have lots of ingenuity for inventing new things. For example, I independently invented regenerative brakes before finding out what they were, and I was only seven or eight years old when I started inventing wireless electricity solutions (my first idea being to use a powerful infrared laser to transmit energy; admittedly not the best plan).

I have independently thought of basically every branch of philosophy I've come across. Every question of existentialism which I've seen discussed in SMBC or xkcd or Reddit or anywhere else, the thoughts haven't been new to me. Philosophy has pretty much gotten trivial for me; I've considered taking a philosophy course just to see how easy it is. Psychology, I actually understand better than people with degrees. Unlike engineering, there's no aspect of psychology which I don't have a very good understanding of. I can debunk many of even Sigmund Freud's theories. I'm a good enough writer that I'm writing a book and so far everybody who's read any of it has said it was really good and plausible to expect to have published. And that's not just, like, me and family members, that counts strangers on the Internet. I've heard zero negative appraisal of it so far; people have critiqued it, but not insulted it. I don't know if that will suffice as evidence that I'm intelligent. I'm done with it, though, because I'd rather defend my maturity, since it's what you've spent the most time attacking. The following are some examples of my morals and ethical code. I believe firmly that everybody deserves a future. If we were to capture Hitler at the end of WWII, I would be against executing him. In fact, if we had any way of rehabilitating him and knowing that he wasn't just faking it, I'd even support the concept of letting him go free. This is essentially because I think that whoever you are in the present is a separate entity from who you were in the past and who you are in the future, and while your present self should take responsibility for your past self's actions, it shouldn't be punished for them simply for the sake of punishment, especially if the present self regrets the actions of the past self and feels genuine guilt about them. I don't believe in judgement of people based on their personal choices as long as those personal choices aren't harming others.

I don't have any issue with any type of sexuality whatsoever (short of physically acting out necrophilia, pedophilia, or other acts which have a harmful affect on others - but I don't care what a person's fantasies consist of, as long as they recognize the difference between reality and fiction and can separate them). I don't have any issue with anybody over what type of music they listen to, or clothes they wear, etc. I know that's not really an impressive moral, but it's unfortunately rare; a great many people, especially those my age, are judgmental about these things. I love everyone, even people I hate. I wish my worst enemies good fortune and happiness. Rick Perry is a vile, piece of shit human being, deserving of zero respect, but I wish for him to change for the better and live the best life possible. I wish this for everyone. I'm pretty much a pacifist. I've taken a broken nose without fighting back or seeking retribution, because the guy stopped punching after that. The only time I'll fight back is if 1) the person attacking me shows no signs of stopping and 2) if I don't attack, I'll come out worse than the other person will if I do. In other words, if fighting someone is going to end up being more harmful to them than just letting them go will be to me, I don't fight back. I've therefore never had a reason to fight back against anyone in anything serious, because my ability to take pain has so far made it so that I'm never in a situation where I'll be worse off after a fight. If I'm not going to get any hospitalizing injuries, I really don't care. The only exception is if someone is going after my life. Even then, I'll do the minimum amount of harm to them that I possibly can in protecting myself. If someone points a gun at me and I can get out of it without harming them, I'd prefer to do that over killing them. I consider myself a feminist.

I don't believe in enforced or uniform gender roles; they may happen naturally, but they should never be coerced into happening unnaturally. As in, the societal pressure for gender roles should really go, even if it'll turn out that the majority of relationships continue operating the same way of their own accord. I treat women with the same outlook I treat men, and never participate in the old Reddit "women are crazy" circlejerk, because there are multiple women out there and each have different personalities just like there are multiple men out there and each with different personalities. I don't think you do much of anything except scare off the awesome women out there by going on and on about the ones who aren't awesome. That doesn't mean I look for places to victimize women, I just don't believe it's fair to make generalizations such as the one about women acting like everything's OK when it's really not (and that's a particularly harsh example, because all humans do that). I'm kind of tired of citing these examples and I'm guessing you're getting tired of reading them, if you've even made it this far. In closing, the people who know me in real life all respect me, as do a great many people in the Reddit brony community, where I spend most of my time and where I'm pretty known for being helpful around the community. A lot of people in my segment of the community are depressed or going through hard times, and I spend a lot of time giving advice and support to people there. Yesterday someone quoted a case of me doing this in a post asking everyone what their favorite motivational/inspirational quote was, and that comment was second to the top, so I guess other people agreed (though, granted, it was a pretty low-traffic post, only about a dozen competing comments). And, uh, I'm a pretty good moderator. All that, and I think your behavior in this thread was totally assholish.

Good copypasta, my dude

I'm aware that it looks conceited of me. Obviously the premise is that I am above average, it is narcissistic to a degree but honestly I know where my intelligence lies on the spectrum.

I think that most people are fairly clever in their ways, most people are very capable but there is a very large section of the population that just does not think reasonably.

Perhaps it is an issue of skill, it needs to be taught and it is largely a mixture of both intellect and skill, or maybe it is weighted heavily from one to the other.

Unskeptical, fanatical belief is distasteful. I cringe when I see some young earth creationist or someone who has wild extremist political views based largely on dogmatic ideology and conspiracy theories.

Hey, maybe I'm just a prick and my cynicism is wasted. I'm not trying to make some grand stand.

>>
>>35152428
On computers though it's simple actually.

You have logic gates and they are basically combinations of transistors and op amps that do some logical operation by taking voltage inputs and giving out a voltage output. These inputs and outputs represent states, either high or low or true or false.

Logic gates can be cascaded to represent more complicated operations, like having multiple put together to do addition. Also specific circuits can store a high or low value and this storing is how you have memory.

This is how a computer computes, it's like a lot of abacuses put together.

Now you can represent numbers and letters with bits which are 1's and 0's, the equivalent to a voltage high or low. One specific way is through the ASCII code.

When you use inputs to write on your keyboard you are mechanically sending signals to a circuit which interprets them in a certain way and presents the output to you in a certain way. The logic behind an operating system is pretty confusing and I don't yet understand how computers can just boot themselves up, I think a bios is flashed to the mobo, that is a program is forced onto the hardware and then when the hardware is on that program runs and you can start interacting with the computer through it.

Maxwell and Heisenberg are the only ones who make me feel like a brainlet.
>>
>>35167980

Emergent complexity from a simple system is still really hard to wrap your head around. Yes, each is a logic gate but eventually they accumulate into something which can recognize speech and reply with a dictionary of answers. It is pretty remarkable.

It's easy to not be surprised with it when you view it in layers as I was taught, where each more advanced technology rests on the lower foundations.

I think the trouble is everyone looks at everything like 'how would I do that if I had to' when that's nonsense. Someone on their own is unlikely to even make a wheel so that sort of conceit is the wrong way to look at it. Be happy you can grasp a product of enormous history.

Cut the sleep down to 7 hours, there is no known benefit to 8. 6 however is too short.

7 extra hours a week, nothing to sneeze at. And I mean, mangakas live off like 4 hours of sleep (I am betting they go insane though), so it's possible to sleep short amounts and still function. There's just no way you'll be all that healthy.

Anyway, going off that, I decided since 7 is still considered healthy, every other day I'd sleep 6. So 7/6/7/6/etc. Now you get 17 or 18 hour days. That's the only amount of time in a day that's tolerable to me, 16 is too short.

>why only rural and suburban retards voted for Trump; city people all voted for Hillary
Cultural elites vs those who are suffering. The entire heartland was left to die by the left. These people's jobs are disappearing, have drug problems, are making just the amount of money that Obamacare punishes (too much to receive full care, too little to actually pay for good care)
Their lives are shit.
Meanwhile you have Hillary here, the FACE of the very political establishment that left them out to dry.

And then you have Trump.
Trump actually talks to them
Trump says he'll bring the jobs back
Trump says he'll unfuck healthcare
Trump says he'll cull illegal immigrants taking jobs
Trump says he'll bring back the days of Reagan basically

You're left with two options
Option A:
>Someone who barely pays attention to you and is part of the same people who ruined you
Option B:
>Someone who at least cares and says they'll do something to help YOU

That's why the people who voted for Trump votes for Trump.

As for the people who voted for Hillary: The city/coastal elites were told for over a year Trump was "literally Hitler"
And they have every reason to want the political climate to continue as it had: they had white collar jobs. Big business booming was good for them, blue collar america be damned.

As someone who is studying illustration and writes a lot:
Literally everything is deliberate.
Why is the blanket blue? More accurately, why tell the reader what color the blanket is? There's no point, adding superfluous details is bad writing.

Unless those details are symbolic.

So when writers go out of their way to write something, they needed a reason to do so. There's a reason they tell you little details like that. Or at least for good authors, hacks will just fill their books up with meaningless details because they don't actually know what they're doing.

As far as visual art: You have no idea how much thought goes into this shit, especially if it's an actual piece and not just a comic panel. I've say through hours and hours of lectures talking about composition and color symbolism and how to use them. And I'm a fucking illustrator, not a fine artist.
