Sheldon's character lost every shred of realism with that whole GF bullshit. the GF thing was so forced.

This show has made it cool and trendy for every fucking 20-something college grad who gets laid every weekend and occasionally enjoys comic book movies to refer to themselves as "nerdy" or "geeky" - these terms are now used as compliments rather than their intended usage as vicious insults to socially maladjusted loners who preferred the company of science fiction to the opposite sex.

It's all just clever marketing by CBS and it has led to the spread (and ironically the death of) "nerd culture"

I think the bigger question would be "why did they give Sheldon a GF in the first place".

After the audience started to grow, they shifted the show to a "Friends with Star Wars jokes" approach, which would be more appealing to the normies. Reeee.

Too bad they removed one the best characters (a.k.a Leslie Winkle), and filled with those other unfunny chicks. I dropped this show when Amy appeared for the first time, but I watched a few episodes of season 9 to see how things are holding up.
