Serious question. How do people get girlfriends and boyfriends? How does it happen? Do they say, hey let's be gf and bf? Does it come organically?

Long story, it's an organic process, for sure. Unfortunately, unless the other person is being blunt, alot of it is in the subtleties.
My personal experiences: being funny helps alot, I'm not a smooth talker by any means but I'm able to fake confidence. I also used dating sites pretty heavily, cuz I'm fat and generally considered to be unnatractive.
