For all you unifags, what major did you pick or are choosing and why? I want to compare shit tastes in careers
>Electrical Engineering
>building things and seeing them work and being able to fix problems make me feel accomplished and on top for once
>also decent pay
Og, Compsci, then realized I couldn't do Calculus, now Bio major, if Jotaro can do it, so can I
>chemical engineering
>like doing projects on industrial scale
Gonna be making 65k this year on my internship without even having my degree. Life's good man
>>35109863
calc 1 or 2? and what topics were hardest for you?
>Law
>dying industry unless you were lucky to procure employment a decade ago
>hopping around dead end admin jobs
Wew lad, good life choice. Not getting those 6 years and 6 figures back.
>>35110119
How/why is it dying?
>>35109863
Computer science has literally almost no calculus involved. They just include calculus to weed you out. Number theory, discrete math, statistics, and linear algebra (if you're going into graphics) and the ability to understand algorithms logically is what computer scientists need to be good at.
>>35109638
>aerospace eng
>brother was doing mech and I couldn't follow in his footsteps
>aero sounds like a cool word
>>35110192
Damn dude. Legal jobs are impossible to get right now, even if you're coming from a top law school. Most top firms are dramatically reducing the number of associates they carry because so much of that grunt work can be done by computers.
Law as an industry is FUCKED. Don't get into $300k of debt to find this out - do some research now before its too late.
>Chemistry
>I'm a premedfag and want to be a some type of surgeon
Thinking about becoming an army doc, but I don't know the pros and cons
>>35109638
I chose Criminal Justice because I wanted to get into law enforcement and the subject interested me. It's more or less a meme degree and most departments won't care that you have a CJ degree, just that you have a degree in the first place. The internship opportunities and connections are nice though.
>>35109638
I'm 24 and I'm thinking about going to school since I never went. Not sure what to major in.
>>35109863
I didn't know jotaro was a bio major. I do know he went on to get a PHD.
>>35110436
do either, EE, CE or CS.
>>35110665
I don't think I can get through all that math.
>>35110856
I think YOU can bruh.I attend a CC at the moment.I sucked at math in HS but busted my ass to pass placement test in calc 1. Literally 3 months went from being a dumbass at math to moderately okay, currently in calculus 2 now..I heard it gets much easier in math after this cause its weed out class and all..If i can do it..so can YOU.
>>35109638
engineering because I suck at humanities and compsci is for neckbeards
>>35110995
>implying engineering is not the most neckbeard mjors
compsci since there seems to be a good job market for it and good pay
>Aerospace engineering
>I want to work at NASA to get proof the earth is flat
>Microbiology
>Fascinated by life and how the complex processes that underlie life evolved out of simple organic interactions
>Really enjoying bacteriological research, now considering grad school
One of the few things in my life I'm not ashamed of.
fellow EE!
EE reporting in
>failed intro to engineering
>failed calc 3
>failed circuit theory
still going strong
>chemistry and physics joint degree with compsci minor
Always loved physics and I thought having chemistry would add some practicality. I think both are equally as useless though. Also had no connections or experience in these areas which makes it worse. Took a compsci course and found that I like programming. Hope I find a job with that.
>Comp Sci
I don't know if I want to go into A.I., Data Mining, or something different. Advice?
>>35109638
>geology
anyone else? what do you plan on doing?
>>35109638
HOLY FUCK
YES
MY COUNTERFIET HELPER MEME GOT POSTED
YES
YES
YES
FIRST TIME IVE EVER SEEN IT GET USED
FUCK YOU GOYS I WIN YES
>>35109638
>Math with Physics
>because doing math is neat
>>35109638
>English (in South America)
>literally have no other skills, thanks 4chan
>physics/CS double major
Mostly into quantum computing and I'm good at both of them
>premed
>healing is a practical skill even for when the world possibly goes to shit unlike something gay like accounting
>it also pays well and increases chances for me getting a gf since I'm a hopeless kv at this point
>>35109638
>Forensic science
It's been pretty crazy shit so far, if you guys have any questions I'd be free to answer
Med school
I want to fucking kill myself every single second. But that is how you get inti med school in the first place, not sure why i thought getting in would change anything
>psuedoscience (read: psychology)
>senior with 2.84 GPA due to immense cardinal sin of sloth
>planning on somehow dragging my way into graduate school and getting a licensed clinical social work degree, going into therapy/counseling
we'll see if i am able to obtain some position that doesn't blow dick for low pay with a B.S. Psyc or if I'm going to be some cunt living with his folks until he's nearly 30
>>35111187
what can you do with a degree in this field? Considering it
>>35113182
How big is your willy?
Oregano
>>35109638
>math with minor in cs
i like cs more but cs classes are catered to brainlets and it's frustrating being in a class full of nonturbo autists who cant understand simple shit
>>35113222
>2.84 gpa in psych
Lol I'm a psych minor you must really just not try at all. So many roasties in this major tbqh
>>35113316
yeah; about 2-3 years ago i guess i reckoned my head and a gun were gonna make the best of friends so i straight stopped attending all of my classes before midterms even hit. still recovering from that shit, man. pretty ashamed at myself on that one!
working 40+ hours a week now and going fulltime...not sure how much I'll be able to clean up my GPA desu. If I can squeak out a 3.0 or higher I'll probably be satisfied.
and ye them roasties be around. luckily I'm located in God's own Dixie and am cheerfully removed from most of the leftist sorta drivel i hear horror stories about
>>35110372
>pros
-Money up front: full tuition + room&board+ stipend for textbooks + stipend for whatever (no student loan debt)
-pretty stable career path
>cons
-shit pay compared to your average doctor
-being in the army
>>35113259
It's a big willy sir, the biggest there ever was.
>>35113213
At least you will make a lot of money if you don't fail
>>35112508
