Yeah, but I'm probably worse off now.
>>
>>35092866
I'm on my way, the only way is exposure therapy.

i have fucked up anxiety. i am kept awake at least 2 nights a week from it and the only thing that helps is xanax. so how does the psychologist expect me to overcome it? "just focus on your breathing" and thats meant to magically fix everything. what a load of bullshit. apparently CBT is meant to work but im not exactly sure whit it is.
>>
You dont just "get over" anxiety, if you have a disorder like SAD.
Anyone who claims they did never had it in the first place.

This.

I also took a lot of speed and mdma which fucked me up, but at least I aint that anxious anymore. I can talk to people without problems now.

Also, I think that the book How to Win Friends and Influence People also helped me with social anxiety, there is a chapter in it that explains in detail the importance of smiling. I used to keep a straight face all the time before, so I forced myself to smile in everyday encounters, like talking to cashier, greeting professors and so on. It was fucking awkward the first few months, but now it's my second nature, and I'm getting along with people much better.

Though there a few downsides to this (probably caused my autism) - like when I was on a funeral and everyone kept looking at me weirdly. Then a friend of mine asked why the fuck was I smiling on a funeral. It was fucking awkward.

Always be aware of your action robots. Autism makes us do stupid things.

Breathing can help. 4 x 4 x 4 rule.
Inhale for 4 through the nose.
Exhale for 4 through the mouth.
For 4 mins.

Seals and astronauts use it to help them keep in control when shit hits the fan. Since anxiety is an uncontrollable fight or flight moment, it should work for anxiety and a real fight or flight moment.

Just remember to stay mindful. That's the part I really had trouble with.

I have anxiety because of multiculturalism and all these non-whites in my white country.

I can't go to sleep at night thinking about all the brown people in white countries ruining everything and slowly turning Europe into a 3rd world shithole.

Every time I try going to sleep I think about how much I want to shoot all of them. Really badly. I end up lying in bed for about 4 hours tossing and turning only to realise I can't sleep so I come back to the computer and wait until the exhaustion is so intolerable that I finally sleep after 48 hours. That or I drink excessive amounts of alcohol

I wish I could kill every non-white, spic, nigger brown, chink faggot in white countries and put them in giant gas chambers so the next generation of my white descendants and children don't have to suffer this dystopia of having subhuman monkeys live amongst us every day

Venlafaxine helps if you never stop taking it.

>Breathing can help. 4 x 4 x 4 rule.

the psychologist told me to just focus on my natural rate of breath. i get anxious before going to sleep and am literally anxious all night, until the sun comes up. it can last up to 8 hours or more and has been going on for over a year now. ive tried a lot of different things. different breathing techniques, mindfullness meditation and different medications. focusing on and trying to control my breathing just seems to make the anxiety attack worse. Seals and astronauts generally dont have an anxiety disorder to begin with so it probably works for them.

>I'm on my way, the only way is exposure therapy.

i was told this. that being exposed to what makes you anxious will cure you of it. but i worked a job that made me anxious and i kept going back even though every day i had an anxiety attack, i kept sticking it out. my anxiety just got worse with time until i had to quit the job. i started not only getting anxious at work but when getting ready for work or just thinking about going in. is there any angle to exposure therapy or is it simply being exposed to what makes you anxious cause that didnt work for me.

>>35092920
not if you have avoidant personality disorder ive worked with people for years and i still feel like they hate me

This is probably true.

The only way to cope with it is to force yourself to do it constantly.
It will always be misery. You'll always feel anxious. But you'll get better used to dealing with it, while it remains constant suffering.
I try and try to do what anxiety is stopping me from doing. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail. Even with practice, it's still horrible. And it always will be. But you'll be better able to power through.
It'll never go away, though.

Normies won't understand.

I used to be very anxious almost all the time. Now I'm only slightly anxious and only in certain situations (like having to make an important call, take a test, presentation, etc.). My recommendation: challenge yourself more. Don't stay 'comfy' as it will only prolong your problem.

I found CBT and exercising (bike riding) and eating more lean meat has helped me fight anxiety.
I've gone from basement to job and my own apartment with 7 months.
>>
>>35094269

what does cbt involve?
>>
>>35094183
Is it really normal to answer the phone/door if you arent expecting anyone? Or do you get anxious when your parents call you or when that package from amazon arrives?
>>
>>35092866
I've cured my self of not caring about what people thing or my own actions. Went from being a sensitive boy to man who does something and just rolls with the punches and if I'm called out I just go whoops, you have a point and keep on doing.

>>35094269
I also find Cbt enjoyable. But I have a feeling you don't mean cock and ball torture
>>
Speed and alcohol.
Not good for your health, but it really helps socialising
>>
>>35094358

>Or do you get anxious when your parents call you or when that package from amazon arrives?

usually just when its a private or unknown number. or if its a particular person who make me nervous.
>>
>>35094529

i used to be super sociable when i took ecstasy as a teenager.
>>
>>35092866
Cured myself of panic attacks and some of the stress from anxiety but I still often feel mentally paralyzed by fear when it comes to leaving my comfort zone.
>>
>>35092920
I did this for 3 years. I ended up becoming psychotic.

Society, not even once.
>>
>>35094331
Putting your dick in a chastity cage and having your balls kicked.
>>
>>35094980
Just the latter part. Chastity cage is cuck fetish stuff
>>
>>35093592
Exposure only works if you get positive reinforcement/validation.
>>
>>35093592
it doesn't work that way otherwise people will cure themselves after few weeks of school/work or whatever it is that causes them anxiety
>>
>>35092866
I did by drinking and taking 3 Tylenol iin the mornings.
>>
>>35092866
Yeah it sort of naturally fades as you get older. It's still there but you get used to it from dealing with it constantly for years, also you feel more confident as you accomplish more in life. Some times I genuinely feel 0 anxiety at all.
