About 20 minutes after my first post. Seriously the only reason to go there is for happenings, every other time it's just really obnoxious and full of whining faggots with a massively underserved sense of superiority.

But I agree, the whole "red pilled" mentality is annoying as fuck. No, looking at some retarded infographs doesn't mean you've unlocked a deeper insight into the nature of reality

I don't like /pol/, but an even worse thing is the nu-anon, of which OP is a good example.
>>
>>35057258
that image is accurate that its scary , im tired of these newfags complaining about /pol/ all day. /b/ and /new/ in their prime were much "worse"
>>
never grow into /pol/ in first place

be it satire or actual serious discussion, everything is filled to brim with shitfest or circlejerk or complete delusion

it's funny, to think that the definition of ad hominem among other popular logic fallacies are all in the sticky
>>
>>35057258
not really

/pol/ is pure cancer even though i mostly browse r9k and share some popular beliefs as them

it's really the rampant lack of self-awareness that I find off-putting
>>
>>35057258
>/pol/ makes a post using general, broad stereotypes that can be applied to a bunch of people in order to deflect how shitty and cancerous it is.

At least /b/ when it was actually /b/ knew that the rest of the site didn't like them and it wasn't because of some scary "nu-anon".

What's hilarious is that they don't realize that every person heavy into ideology thinks they've unlocked some deep insight into reality and every body else is deluded.

Liberals will complain of a mainstream conservative bias, for example, whilst conservatives tend to complain about liberalism in the same media

>>35056872
I was heavy into it for a while, mainly traditionalism, fascism and esoteric Nazism. It reached a peak that coincided with a manic episode and I sperged out in public and became aggressive towards an immigrant for no reason when I was drunk. I'll live with the shame of that till I die desu. And a facebook sperg out at a gay former friend for posting BLM shit that was totally uncalled for.

Was still a great feeling to believe that you've figured everything out and everybody who doesn't buy into your highly specific worldview is an idiot though, even if it was temporary. Great ego-boost.

Now I can't look at /pol/ outside of happenings and comfy brit/pol/ without cringing and feeling rage, they lack so much self-awareness.

It started an interest in the occult and esotericism though so that's a bonus I suppose.

>>
Got in shortly after high school and never left.
>>
>>35056872
I used to visit regularly when it was /new/. I browsed regularly prior to Dorner. After that I gradually stopped. I was around 20 then. It's not a very funny place anymore, and the edgy/deliberately-offensive antics aren't humorous, just tedious now. Now it's populated by 16-year-olds and people too dumb to laugh at themselves, and other people who are just there to prod them into acting out and getting mad. I went from libertarian-leaning to socially conservative and economically liberal. It's not a position that makes for good political discussion on the internet.

Watching them self-destruct over Milo being a pedophile was funny though.
>>
>>35058661
I didn't even post that picture, you're just grasping for straws because I'm right about "nu-anon" being a /pol/ boogeyman in order to justify rampant shitposting about how everyone who disagrees with them is a SJW.

You have be braindead to assume that this wasn't the case because they target /vg/ (which is a huge board) so that tons of people will fall under this.

"nu anon" doesn't exist and you're retarded.

>>
>>35058728
>You're not allowed to ever use insults when making a argument or else you hurt my feelings.
>>
>>35056872
I have a love/hate relationship with /pol/. Their "ideology" is pretty retarded, though I assume a lot of it is ironi anyways, but I find their banter and memes pretty funny sometimes. On the other hand, I hate /pol/ because it's been flooded by newfags in the last couple of years, and a lot of them don't seem to understand irony at all, plus they are always leaking into other boards (though other boards are guilty of this as well). I hardly ever post on /pol/ though, because 99% of the times I just get insulted because of my flag.
>>
>>35058744
Hurting feelings is literally an ad hominem and disqualifies your argument. Kek, so much for the tolerant left.

This perfectly my feelings about /pol/.
>>
>>35058759
>because it's been flooded by newfags in the last couple of years

What's worse is how people on /pol/ actually want newfags flooding in, so that more people can be "redpilled".
>>
>>35056872
Because welcoming the extinction of the white race is the mature thing to do, right?
>>
I used to be racist as bell, about two years ago. /b/ and /pol/ were the first board's I discovered on here, so I thought other boards were just dead boring compared to those two. Anyway, I completely assimilated into the pol given Inc and started hating blacks after seeing a few infographs on inter-ethnic violence. But then I graduated high-school, decided to go to university in BritBongLand. One of the few girls on my course was a black qt3.14. She was based af and one of the smarter females I've met. It was hard to keep hating all black people after that. Now I just judge people based on their own actions rather than their rAce or ethnic group. You know, like a non-retard.

My claim was that the picture is bullshit and was attempt to shut down any anti-/pol/ sentiment, by targeting random boards in an attempt to get as many people as possible under this "nu-anon" label.

The person I was responding is a drooling retard and got upset over me calling him a drooling retard.
>>
>>35058974
True, but in the past, there was some stuff that was entertaining and memorable, like the SOPA panic, the Tribes Ascend match, and the time people fell for the lostboy.exe virus. These days however, it's nothing but the same console wars and Twitter threads over and over.

tl;dr I don't disagree with you, but /v/ used to be fun sometimes.

The reason why /pol/ is becoming so ubiquitous recently is because you believe everyone on /pol/ fits one Neo-Nazi stereotype. I love Jews, support the LGB, and am considered centrist on the political compass, and I browse /pol/ regularly.

The more people you single out as "/pol/", the more people will actually become /pol/. Grouping people together is the main reason why the Democrats lost the election.

I've never understood people saying this. Just about everyone uses multiple boards so it's not leaking. No one is going to switch off part of their mindset and have a different posting style between boards. It's just people that use multiple boards. And they make the same sort of posts across every board they use. There's no leaking as if someone is locked primarily into one board.

I was just the opposite. What the kids would call a "SJW", except I never liked trannies. Free Tibet, Free Palestine, smash the state, all that meme stuff.

Then after years of constantly being anxious and miserable and I stopped giving a shit because I am not Tibetan nor Palestinian, and "the state" is probably better than any alternative.

I didn't grow up to become a conservative or alt-right because those people are also deluded and living inside of circlejerk echo-chambers, I just grew out of politics altogether.

The barometer of American politics has been fucked for several decades already.

Democrats, the "leftist" party of American politics would be considered moderately right-wing anywhere else in the world really, especially as far as social issues like education and health care and the military goes.

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were throwing money at the military and bombing brown people as much as Reagan and Bush Jr. & Sr. were.

Bernie Sanders, who was too "extreme" for the Democrats would have been a normal politician in any other first world country, advocating for "radical" things like free health care.

I disagree. I have opinions based on evidence, not based on other people's opinions. Certain views are not worth consideration because evidence directly contradicts them.

For example, climate change can be considered "political" but the evidence simply points to it being real and human caused. People who have opinions otherwise are simply wrong until they have the same quality of evidence to support their position. I refuse to waste time considering arguments without evidence to back them, in part because I can't. I either have to accept it or reject it because you haven't given me the information I need to come to my own conclusion.
>>
>>35065858
What are your sources for "human caused". Please no news articles... I mean come on. Every time I ask someone they point to some dumb Guardian article and accept it as truth.

I haven't seen any evidence that it is caused by humans, or that it isn't. Just because the evidence saying that it isn't human caused is pretty fucking weak doesn't mean that the opposite is immediately proven true.

I've been involved with a school project that measured sulfate and other aerosols in the atmosphere. They are another by-product of the burning of fossil fuels and have a different effect on the amount of trapped heat in the atmosphere. Namely, they tend to reflect energy and keep it from entering the atmosphere. This understanding caused the "global cooling" scare in the 70's and why aerosols are more regulated and heavily taxed.

My argument is that we don't have enough understanding of the interplay of molecules in the atmosphere to make an accurate guess. All opinion to date is thus mere speculation and all call to action purely political.

Anyways it's not funny anymore. Just a bunch of faggots copying each other trying to fit in.

it's stuff like this that makes me realize /pol/ isn't really up for good and honest debates. when these memes get debunked, which it isn't hard to do, people will still repost them non-stop or move goalpoasts and not acknowledge that they got btfo.
