I'm living quite modestly (no car, no expensive entertainment) and it comes down to about 1000-1500 PLN per month. You could surely survive on less, but it would be neither enjoyable nor healthy. Also, you need to have an apartment (rents start from a few hundred PLNs for a room in a city) and some major expenses once in a while (remember for example that public healthcare is not reliable).

sounds like you could live quite normally on say 3500 pln / mo then. although at this rate I wouldn't be able to retire until age 50.
