my mother is a hairstylist and I avoided haircuts for about 6 years to spite her. I would trim my own hair to avoid split ends.
I now get a haircut every year or so.

I hate having to look at myself in the mirror. Never been one for small talk, but I don't mind it so much in these cases 'cause it gets my mind off things.
