The only negative I could think of would be disappointed parents, and the social stigma of being a NEET if anyone found out. As a NEET you would try to stay away from people as much as possible though, so that wouldn't really be a big problem.

Even if you're from a wealthy family and still living with them as a NEET, it will be looked down apon. Especially in thr United states because there's a big social stigma if you still live with your parents at an older age.
