I actually did something pretty similar to that just last november. I went hiking with my friends (same guys since kindergarten, never made new friends), we ended up being too cold to sleep so we sat around a fire as the sun rose. They are kind of becoming normies now and go to parties more often than actually enjoyable stuff like that so I know that my days doing that are numbered.

Thats usually what happens if you are looking at your norman social circles. Easily 30% of people in college/uni are socially awkward "nerds" who would want nothing more than to do those things that you described. In principle we should keep talking like this regardless of what other people think, but I'm only human, I have no control over my emotions and neither do you, you will always view me with pity and I will always be reminded of what I am and how I am an embarrassment to you, how I am dragging you down. The only way to remedy this would be for you to date me to prove everyone wrong or at least insist on bringing me to parties and things to help me find more friends and learn social skills despite your friends constantly reminding me they don't want me there or possibly unfriending you.
