I think being ugly forever would be worse as you wouldn't have a normal childhood. I was a cute kid, but now I look facially like some weird neanderthal/rodent mix despite being huwhite

At least if you're being ugly since birth, you'd don't get to experience the painful loss. Only general feeling of envy and jealousy which almost everyone have.
