I watched the first ep of HxH and it didn't really sell me too much to be honest.

Maybe it was just because I was just coming off finishing Diamond Is Unbreakable, but the whole thing felt very Pokemon: Indigo League to me. I'm sure it gets better.

The other anime I ended up watching (and am still watching, actually) fits your description in a way: Samurai Champloo. The bantz between Rin and Mugen is fucking fantastic, it's really a wonderful dynamic based on respect and mutual desire to fucking skewer each other.

Haikyuu!! is good fun with plenty of bro-tastic stuff

Danshi Koukousei No Nichijou is not Nichijou. Danshi is commonly referred to as Nichibros because it's basically Nichijou but with dudes. Haruhi has two dudes and three girls but I included it anyway cause its comfy and kinda fits what OP was asking for.
