In 2010 people complained the ponies were killing 4chan, because it was bringing too many normies to the site. Every summer people complain about a fictional influx of new users to the site and how it's lowering the quality of posts. In 2008 people complained about an influx of new users caused by the project chanology raid and the media coverage that followed and how it was ruining the site, blah ,blah. You get it. The site started going down hill the moment too much content was posted that you didn't like.

My point is that if all of these are true, the quality of posts has constantly been lowered with the addition of every single new user. Literally meaning there was never a single point in the history of 4chan where high quality OC was produced on a regular basis. The reality is though, this isn't true. Aside from the period of time when I very first started using the site(when there was no captcha or post timer) the site has been pretty consistent in how it operates and the rate at which ( it appears to me) OC is produced has been fairly constant. Just there are more users posting, so uhh, it might appear as if there is less. But there really isn't. And I don't get the sense of community people talk about. I've been here for a little over a decade now, I never got that sense.

A few years ago, it was around the time moot had started posting on /fit/, someone linked his Facebook page and his profile picture was him a woman and a baby. There were comments congratulating him on the baby I think. His cover picture was exploding knees and when I checked the account again a few days later the exploding knees picture was removed. To this day I don't know 100% if that was actually moot or not considering he looked too bulky to be moot. What if moot has had a secret family all along?
