Most of the anons that are now into traps were at one point completely non-gay. They still identify as non-gay. They're not going to visit a /trap/ board on purpose.

However, they will click into every trap thread they come across. They will possibly post their own trap collection, thereby increasing content and hence clicks into the thread.

Trap threads feed their addiction without them ever having to admit "I visit a trap board".

So it suited moot and now chink von 4chan to leave this arrangement as-is. It is another opium war, but the opiate is the trap.
