The stock market is quite a gamble. You never know what exactly you're going to make or lose, anything can happen at any given moment. If making a good amount of bank is your goal I'd suggest investing else where, as chances are you won't make much off the stocks.

It can however be good if you want money to use short term and not retire off of or anything.

It's bretty gud, I'm not wealthy by any means but I've made a few hundred from what very little I've put in. I should have no trouble retiring early at this rate.

It's impossible not to make money with it. As long as it has existed the market has generally gone in just one direction, up. Look at any chart if you have doubts. With mutual funds like VTSAX you can rest easy. Buy and hold just werx.
