I've noticed parental tolerance for 'living at home' decreases as the number of siblings increases. It also decreases by a LOT if your parents are still married, and it decreases a bit if the relevant parent is the same gender as you but not married (particularly for fembots and their mothers).

A single mother with a male only-child's got a decent chance to be just fine living with a NEET or part-timer (in fact the relationship can be downright /comfy/, depending on how chill the mom is and whether she's happy being a spinster), but a still-married couple that's had 4+ kids is going to most likely be super-intolerant of the idea, and constantly badger you to GTFO.
