Is it okay to drop a class a few weeks into uni? If I drop it now it won't affect my gpa.
Yes of course. It's no biggie as long as you still have the appropriate number of credits
Is it past the add/drop deadline?

It's better to do well in three classes than do poorly in five
That being said, grad schools and some employers will care about courseload

I need a grand total of 30 credit hours, right? Dropping this class would put net me at 29... Can I just take one summer class to make up for it? This math class really isn't going to factor in for my major. I need to take a math placement test that way I can take calculus and chemistry in the fall. Staying in this math class is pointless

Nah, if I drop the class now then I would receive a W but my GPA wouldn't be affected which it what I was worried about. Plus, I'll get a 30% refund which is better than nothing.

Credit hours varies on every uni and often from major to major
For example, in my uni you must be above 12 to be considered "full-time" for financial aid and other legal reasons. Otherwise it doesn't really matter

Alright, I'll look into my uni's policy and see how it works. Thanks
