Since I was 16. I never started posting until I was 18 though, and usually it was just rolling for gets.

I have really bad insomnia sometimes, and after a fight with it one week my schedule was too fucked up. I didn't have time to hang out with them when they were on, so I just retreated into myself again. I feel kind of like my taste fell back a few years to when I was happy, like I wanted to play those same games again and enjoy them and everything would be alright, but it doesn't work like that of course. I talk to a small group of people from here but not the regs.

What I want out of life? In a perfect world, I'd have a small farm, grow food for my family to eat, catch fish from a lake nearby, raise a few animals, have a wife and some kids and go hunting. Late at night we could gather around the tv and watch a movie or something together. Realistically, just enough money to not stress from week to week with a wife and a couple kids. Just be happy. I'm going to be 30 next year and it just feels like the window is closed for that, especially with the way people are these days.

It's not that simple though anon. I have no money. I have no access to reliable transportation. There are no jobs in my tiny rural town in the middle of nowhere. There is no opportunity here. The one single thing I'm good at (video games) I can't monetize because I'm both not good enough and don't really have the proper equipment to do so. I'm stuck in a rut and there's not really anything I can do about it right now, hoping that the place I'm forced to "volunteer" at literally creates a job for me.

I don't have a 3.0, and that closes off 90% of research opportunities, scholarships, jobs, and anything else that could help me get a leg up. my best bet is to absorb knowledge that I can actually stomach and combine that with what little engineering knowledge i actually retained to start a business or something. it's probably gonna be a shitshow.

4 years of subpar grades can't be solved with a few easy classes. the thing that makes me happy isn't the chance of success, it's the fact that I've accepted the path I choose in life wasn't ideal for me. Nope. The vast majority of farms here are Amish owned, and they only employ eachother. What's left is scooped up by Mexicans that work for less than legal.

None. I only know a couple that are within 6 hrs drive, and they live with their families and/or can't afford any roommates that can't afford to take care of themselves.

Plus, as an added "bonus", my mother is physically disabled and can't do many household chores anymore. The only reason I even let her do any of it is because she goes crazy when she has nothing to do or doesn't feel useful. To quote an aunt when I was younger, "(your mom) was born to be a mother and homemaker. Everyone can tell how much she loves it and has always loved it."

I've never given up hope completely before, but every day, every week, month, year, it's harder and harder to justify holding onto it. No one ever said life was fair though I guess.
