>just hit 10,000 hours played on my Steam account
>countless hundreds of hours on consoles and emulators
I could have mastered an instrument.
I could have become fluent in a language.
I could have spent my youth with friends and being able to socialize.
Instead I sat in my room, playing video games. Video games are so fucking stupid.
>>34899894
Don't pretend you'd have done anything productive with your time. The only difference is you played Steam instead of wasting your time some other way.
>>34899894
No one to blame but yourself. You could've had it all, instead, you chose A FUCKING VIDEO GAME.
>>34899894
Should've tried to go pro. That is my only regret I'm 25 now and way past my prime but 7 years ago I was the highest rank in just about every game I played.
>>34899894
And you still can now.
When I had quit FFXI in 2015 I had accumulated 1,086 days, 18 hours and 23 minutes of game time. Roughly 26064 hours.
I really can't hope to express how wrong you are.
Video games are going to be THE defining art form of the 21st century.
Their massive cultural importance is staggering.
>>34899894
start something now
>>34899973
I've never been good enough. I think I'm literally retarded. I don't improve when I practice.
I have 2600 hours in Dota 2 and I'm still around the 50-60th percentile. I had to quit, I had to concede that I wasn't having any fun.
>>34899894
I turned my interest of games into a passion of making them.

MUH VIDYA
die die die normies
Exceptfor socializing, it's all the same shit. You can use video games as a social tool just like any other hobby.
You sit in a room playing games alone, sure that's weird. Likewise you sit in your room playing the piano all alone, you're also weird.
>>34899894
Get off Dota
>>34900117
>you sit in your room playing the piano all alone, you're also weird
I don't think this is weird.
It's pursuing the arts. Music provokes a unique reaction from people. You can move someone to tears with a piano concerto. You aren't going to move someone by playing Super Mario World really well.
>>34899894
If it was spread out over loads of video games then you're like the video game equivalent of being well read. It's only bad if you spent like 9500 hours on Dota 2 and the other 500 on other games.
>>34900170
>the video game equivalent of being well read
which is still pathetic
>tfw I've always done a bit of everything
I find it one of my most redeemable aspects desu
>>34899894
but are you satisfied? it's better to do something you enjoy then do something you don't enjoy for "the rewards" or prestige or whatever.
I'll bet your spatial awareness, coordination, and reaction time are great because of the vidya you've played. as far as applying that to something financially beneficial? nothing overt comes to mind but those are skills nonetheless.
>>34900058
>>34900096
I just think people have to want to get better desu. Like if you just play all day for the sake of playing you probably wont get better but if everyday you play and your goal is to get to a high rank you will get better.
>>34900418
This is a weird post, it's like you only know simple words and no punctuation
>>34900473
muh nigga i knowz mo wordz den you cracka
>>34900473
and yous a not puts a perioood in the endz of yous sentenance ugly stupied cracka
When I was a kid, and the CAL was a thing, my 1.6 clan was ranked in the top 20. My Pentium IV northwood clocked at 3.8ghz and my GeForce 6800 could not be beat. Gaming was all I did. Partially, I was fat and socially awkward so that contributed to it. I guess I stopped once I got into booze and pot. I don't even own a PC anymore, just a lowly MBP. I don't even own a console for that matter. I'll surf in source or kill some whores in san andreas every now and again but I mostly play guitar and piano now. Life is much better. It's not too late for you.
>>34900473
>This is a weird post, it's like you only know simple words and no punctuation
You forgot the period. Nice punctuation there kiddo.
>>34900548
Are you still fat and socially awkward?
>>34900473
lmao this is the best post of the night makes fun of someones punctuation and he forgets the period fucking retard
>>34900688
Fat, no. The weight came off when I started using my lunch money to buy cigarettes. I've always been awkward. I made real person friends in HS, the burnouts, when I started drinking. Then I went to college and learned how to socialize. I'm still awkward, but I own it and am not embarrassed of it.
I hit over 10,000 a while ago.
The thing is, I really enjoy playing games. I have yet to experience something I find more interesting. Its just me maybe.
My only regret is not being able to pit the games down when life requires me to. Im much better now, having a job and responsibilities
>>34899894
i've probably spent more time than that on 4chan and enjoyed it even less
why dont i like videogames ?
>>34901023
You dont play on a 4k $ system
>>34899894
You can say this about anything. Even experts have to relax every now and then. This is what you do in your downtime. (If it's what you do in your uptime too, you fucked up)
>>34901287
Obviously it's my uptime, what else would I do? There's nothing else I like.
>>34900924
>I have yet to experience something I find more interesting.
Yeah, because you're spending all your fucking time playing video games.
>>34900473
Nice period faggot.
>>34899894
>implying you're talented enough to learn an instrument
>implying you didn't spend all that time playing games because you were useless to begin with
>>34903005
>implying you have to be talented to learn an instrument
you won't be mozart obviously but you can be beyond competent
>>34899894
It's the same with me. There's just nothing I really want to do. My only goal in life is to find a comfy job that pays decently so I can support this life.
