I get anxious when confronting any form of responsibility. Just doing homework or any task that isn't just showing up for participant points (which was was hard for me as well) is difficult enough for me to not crumble under.

Well to be fair this is my own subjective opinion but most AAA games just seem to have most time and effort poured into the visual side of things. I prefer playing mods because they feel like passion projects even if they are janky as fuck. I tried playing Rise of the Tomb Raider and gave up about an hour in because it was just the same fucking game as the first one except with graphics pumped up and an even more incomprehensible plot. I liked Mankind Divided but that's about it, I 'liked' it but it didn't leave any kind of impression on me (At least Adam Jensen is a memorable cool character though)

only games I've really fell in love with lately is the Dark souls series since I played it for the first time last year. It actually feels like some passion went into it (although DaS2 is the weakest of the three and I kinda feel like it wasn't even originally intended to be a DaS game, they just bolted the title on when the first game became popular)

I do play games though if that's what you're asking, I don't parrot a video I saw like most of /v/ does. I genuinely disliked RotTR and thought Bioshock infinite was intensely mediocre in everything except scenery.

Because whenever I do find the willpower to tackle something like "I want to get good at this hobby" or "I want to try getting a job", I always wind up in the same position I described. I put in a small amount of effort it takes to get started, but only to get into a comfortable bubble where I can be happy without achieving anything. I've stayed this way for years with some of the interests I've taken up, and even when I realize "oh shit, I need to take the extra step otherwise I'm going to be like this forever" I always end up back in my bubble anyways.

As far as what I have to lose, is that it ends up being a waste of time. Maybe not for me, but ultimately to society by creating nothing of value as a result.
