Not terrible, and the animation quality for flash is pretty good, but aside from that I couldn't wrap my head around why so many just clung to it like barnacles on the side of a ship. I used to be obsessed and drew fanart, I had a lot of watchers on deviantart and tumblr.

I was in 11th grade when season 1 aired
I had it on my ipod touch
someone borrowed my ipod on the bus, found it and started asking questions
I foolishly tried to defend the show, to the point where they were willing to
it opened up in the middle of the winter wrap up song where all of the ponies are singing and dancing around

luckily it was near the end of the year, and by the time my final year started it was no longer a hot topic. Occasionally they'd bring it up but I knew how to brush it off by that point instead of trying to defend it

I still watch the show but I've never told anybody else about it. I don't own any merch and hardly ever even think about the show while a season's not airing

If you tell a normal person you watch a show for little girls they'll instantly assume you're a pedophile, especially if you're an unkempt neckbeard. If you then go on to sperg out and try and defend watching this show they'll think you're special needs. If you tell people you like to draw and dress up in animal costumes with your friends they'll think it's fucking weird but pedo isn't the first thing that comes to mind.

I made a Skype group very early on which had a bunch of tripfags from the chan and people just acted differently there because I was the sole mod. They told me I was retarded and made everything about myself a lot which I guess was true. I cried and complained a lot and was basically too autistic for a fandom full of autists.

Now their community is even more edgy because of people who realized being hugbox is stupid so they did a 180 and started telling each other to kill themselves and shit instead. Over time the board has split up into 4 separate boards due to the different communities. Now they're back down to 3 because there a new fifth board was created to avoid edge, two boards fused and one board died.

I mean I sometimes browse /pol/ myself for the news but there are so many people in the Ponychan community who will just spout "WE WUZ" and "CURRENT YEAR" every 5 min like they're on fucking loop.
The rest are maybe 50% trannies who are ALWAYS roleplaying degenerates talking about dicks and vaginas 24/7 and posting their asses online, 20% people who never gave up the old hugbox mentality and act like a character from the show, 10% underages throwing their lives away, 10% decent people who just have genuine autism or some other disorder and 10% completely lost souls i.e. NEETs who try to kill their moms, severely retarded low-IQ trannies who failed highschool and post their ass online and have sex with other posters.
