The major consensus here is that people like Vanilla right? Do most people here play cracked or have a paid copy? I'm surprised /r9k/ hasn't banded together to get a server going themselves.

I've seen anons trying to to get a server going but haven't heard anything about it since. Plus if they did it might be anarchy and people would get their shit destroyed all the time unless the host knew what they were doing.

I play a paid version because I bought it in like 2009 when it was in alpha and like 10$

I use to host a vanilla server and it was pretty well receieved because I didn't abuse admin powers to give myself or any friends advantages, but I spent so much time managing I only got to play a little bit. It was a vanilla server, but I'd put events on the server, and little competitions utilizing those scoreboards incase people wanted something to do. Even still, it was a good time though. Whatever guy wants to host is going to be forfeiting a good chunk of play time to keep things running smoothly.
