To teach high school I'd need to get a teaching degree on top of that. In principle I'm eligible to teach in university, but I have to wait until someone dies and vacates a spot.

>>34784412

I know I fucked up. It's not like I didn't see it coming, but whenever I talked to a professor about switching to something more applied they talked me out of it on the grounds that anyone can do applied maths, but good pure mathematicians are very rare. I swallowed that bait like I did the "be yourself" bullshit in high school, which is why I'm here. Jobless as well as gfless.

Why wouldn't a stem major be smart? Do you think that art majors are somehow as smart as stem majors? They have easier classes, yet somehow get lower grades. They cant handle simple math classes and straight up fail introductory stem classes like Chem 1.

Not all of them are smart though. My friend got a D in intro Biology and he wants to be a doctor. Kek. He doesn't volunteer or research either. Sorry about my rant dude.

Doesn't invalidate anything I said considering that earlier, I stated that being a third year stem undergraduate would be considered smart.

see

I was also referring to other stem majors' views on stem majors. Art fags don't have educated opinions, so your views on anything don't really matter.

lol, stem majors literally know nothing except chemistry or math or whatever they majored in. Liberal arts people are the ones who have the education that you're referring to. STEM is basically just the information age's version of the manual laborer. Liberal arts is where you learn to reason and think critically and be a good person and reach intellectual maturity.

>STEM is superior. If you aren't STEM than you're major is essentially useless as it'll barely contribute to society in comparison to real majors.
Dumb. There are lots of majors that are extremely useful that are not STEM. Law, Medicine are the most famous examples off the top of my head.
>>
>>34784568
dude there's so much you can do with Computer Science, just buckle down and put the vidya on the back burner for a few years. It's worth.
>>
>>34786055
why not? because everyone can be a stem major, you literally just checkmark a box when you're picking your majors. college classes are easy as fuck for the most part so graduating with a STEM degree is hardly an accomplishment.

There are obviously exceptions, like EECS at berkeley or CS at cal tech, but those are the rarity. Biochemistry degrees are a dime a dozen

Calculus is intermediate math:

Advanced math starts with Fourier Transformations and non-Euclidean Geometry.
